Queen returned to Japan on the 70th anniversary of Freddie's birth and 15 years after his death. This tour was only a 3-day consecutive performance at Nippon Budokan, and it was the first time in 31 years that they would stand on the traditional stage since “THE WORKS TOUR 1985”. All three days were sold out and a huge success, but what was especially special was the last day, which was the 20th Nippon Budokan performance. A special live album of the multi-layered and realistic "September 23rd: Nippon Budokan performance" will be released. This week, “BUDOKAN 2016 FINAL NIGHT” of this show will also be released, but of course this work is a separate recording. This is a work by a completely different recording artist, and is an original sound source that uses the master directly provided by the recording artist. It is true that “BUDOKAN 2016 FINAL NIGHT” has a beautiful and miraculous sound, but this work is also a wonderful live album. The most wonderful thing is the loud musical tone. It's not "thick". “Buttai.” It is definitely an audience recording as it also captures the spectacle of vivid cheers, but its thickness is comparable to line recording. Although I missed the pressing because it was too thick and had a limiter applied to the bass, it is an album that allows you to get close to QUEEN with a sound that is very close to that. On top of that, he also has an intense “on-site feeling”. Of course, no matter how loud the cheers are, the thick musical tone will never be overwhelmed. The actual detailed recording position was not revealed, but from what I heard, it seemed to be sandwiched between the PA and the large crowd. It's supposed to be Nippon Budokan, but the nuances of the sound are as concentrated as a small hall. What I want you to keep in mind here is that it is not (never!) a ``close audience uproar''. The spectacle of chanting, such as "Hand in Hand," spreads out widely, and the audience nearby is not noisy. However, whereas the press edition made you feel the spectacle of the entire Budokan, this work has such a concentration that the enthusiasm was squeezed into a small venue. The intimacy and closeness that such sound creates is truly delicious. Of course, it is actually Nippon Budokan, and the music and performances are full of the dynamism typical of QUEEN. Brian's Japanese MC and selfie (selfie stick) photo session are also well recorded, and it feels incredibly familiar. How amazing would it be if you could experience QUEEN + Adam Lampert in a small venue? If it were a club... This work is a live album that will make you dream like that. The final day at Nippon Budokan was a memorial in every sense of the word. This is a dream-like piece that not only emits the atmosphere of the scene through the speakers, but also makes you feel infinitely close to it. This work is a passionate live album that will satisfy even the desire to be squeezed into a small venue with QUEEN and Adam.
