QUEEN + Adam Lampert's Japan performance just ended the other day. The first live album is now available! This will be Freddie's first performance in Japan in two years since "SUMMER SONIC 2014," but more importantly, it will be his first performance in 31 years at the Nippon Budokan, and will be a three-day performance (by the way, the previous Nippon Budokan was Freddie's last visit to Japan. You can enjoy “THE WORKS TOUR 1985”, “AT LAST BUDOKAN (Masterport-014)” and “THE LAST TOUR IN JAPAN (Wardour-152)”). The main point of this work is the wonderful sound that is unbecoming of the fastest release, but since it is also the first report, let's look back at the progress of the past two years and imagine the activities. ・August 2014: Japan performance (3 performances) ← [Last visit to Japan] ・August-September 2014: Oceania (8 performances) [about 4 months later] ・January-February 2015: Europe ( 25 performances)《About 6 months later》・September 2015: South America (6 performances)《About 3 months later》 ★December 2015-January 2016: Asia (11 performances) ← [Solo visit to Japan] ★2016 January 2016: Oceania (6 performances) ★February 2016: United Arab Emirates performance (1 performance) ★February-April 2016: North America (22 performances)★April-May 2016: Europe (16 performances) Performances) ・May-June 2016: Europe (15 performances) (about 2 months later) ・September 2016: Israel performance (1 performance) ・September 2016: Asia (8 performances) ← [This time JP] (Adam's solo tour marked with ★) These are all the performances from his last visit to Japan until this time. It's been two years since QUEEN + Adam, but Adam's solo visit to Japan in January of this year is still fresh in my memory. This performance in Japan was only for 3 days at Nippon Budokan, but this work includes the first day. This is a live album containing the "September 21, 2016" performance. This is an original recording only for this work using a master handed down directly from the recording artist himself, and the quality that is of concern is that it is a wonderful audience sound. Although it is not the type that can be called "just like a sound board," the musical tone is sturdy yet delicate in detail and is truly wonderful. In the opening scene, I thought, ``Are the outlines a bit blurry?'' but as soon as the band starts playing, things clear up quickly. After that, Brian May's guitar and Adam's vocals arrive straight. The heavy bass, which tends to be a weak point in audience recordings, is also thick and powerful. On top of that, the octagonal space of Nippon Budokan comes to mind and the scene has a nice feel to it. To be honest, the original recording did have a slight sense of distance, but that was addressed with careful mastering. We created a balance that allows the core of the strong musical tone to stand out from the venue's acoustics, while also achieving the original "ringing" and details. Of course, the enthusiasm of the audience is also an important element for the sense of realism. This work also captures the fine-grained applause and chanting that is typical of Japanese people, and is perfect in that regard. The loud musical tones never lose to the applause, but the dynamism of each song's intro and chorus is overflowing. What's more, even though the event is very lively, there are no loud voices from nearby guests, allowing you to fully enjoy the spectacle. Furthermore, it is the MC who feels “Nippon Budokan for the first time in 31 years”. In the member introduction before “Somebody To Love”, Freddie is also introduced. "It's unbelievable to be singing Queen's music here (Nippon Budokan). Freddie is always in my heart, and I sing for him. Today I want to sing something that Freddie will like. "I tried making it into fashion, but what do you think?" When “Somebody To Love” ends, Brian takes the microphone this time. "I'm back. Good evening, everyone. Tokyo is amazing! Please sing with me...wait a minute, please take a selfie. The selfie stick is a wonderful invention of Japan," he said, using the digital camera attached to the selfie stick. Start shooting. Then, “Love Of My Life” is played while talking about “Wonderful Budokan”, and “Hand in Hand”. A chorus of 9,000 people spread out in an octagonal space...how beautiful. This is “QUEEN in Japan”. It is “QUEEN at Budokan”. Nippon Budokan has returned for the first time in 31 years. A 3-day live album will continue to appear. This work is the first report on this work, and it is a masterpiece that gradually warms your heart.
