QUEEN returned to Nippon Budokan for the first time in 31 years with Adam Lampert in tow. This performance in Japan was held for three consecutive days only at Nippon Budokan, but this work was recorded on “September 21st (first day)”. We reported on this concert the other day in "BUDOKAN 2016 DAY 1", but another superb live album is now available. What I'm most concerned about is the sound, but this is also an outrageous top quality product. This work was created by one of the best recording artists of our time, who also provides countless masterpiece recordings to our store, and this work is one of the top masterpieces in the collection of masters. Anyway, the musical tone is solid and thick. The album from the other day was a well-known recording with sufficiently high sound quality, but the slight distance was compensated for by mastering. However, there is no such need in this work. Of course, I went into detail and checked the details to make changes if necessary, but there was nothing I could do. Not only is the sound up close, but each note of each instrument is vividly separated, and despite the large household of six people, there is no sense of clutter. It has a three-dimensional feel that allows you to feel the gap between the sounds, and the details of the performance can be heard delicately, and everything from the extension of the treble to the reverberation of the deep bass is delivered beautifully. It is a masterpiece that should be called "just like a sound board" if you limit it only to musical sounds, but if you call it that, it would be rather disrespectful to the sound of this work. It is true that the musical sound itself is robust and detailed, but the slight “sound” of the venue that is added to it makes it even richer. What's more, the "sound" is not circular, but spreads out from the core of the musical tone like an aura, making it crystal clear, beautifully coloring the music, and not blurring its outline in the slightest. It is exactly the famous sound that “audience should be”. Furthermore, one more thing that seems to be recorded from the audience seats is the breathing of the audience at the scene. The audience who gathered at Nippon Budokan for the first time in 31 years sang and applauded loudly, creating a spectacle that filled the octagonal space. Of course, there is no way that the strong musical tones will be overpowered, but if that's all there is to it, then it's normal (?) Ultra-high sound quality. The three-dimensional sound of this work is not only that, but you can feel the audience's applause seeping into the gap between each note of each neatly separated instrument, and it is a rare recording where the performance and the applause mutually create a ``space''. . The flow that continues from “Somebody To Love” to the chorus of “Love Of My Life” while Adam talks about his feelings for Freddie is a promise, but the communion between the stage and Budokan that spreads there is a beauty that has never been heard. Only ultra-high quality audience recording can create such a feat and create such a sound space. It is easy to call it “like a soundboard” or “like an official”, but it is a live album that has more charm than that. The Nippon Budokan for the first time in 31 years with such a sound was a truly moving night. QUEEN + Adam was shocking at “SUMMER SONIC 2014” two years ago, but this time the fest was a different full-scale show. From the beginning, he surprises us with “Seven Seas of Rhye (full version since his first visit to Japan!?)”, but the following “Hammer To Fall” also reminds us of “that night” 31 years ago. In addition to "Hammer To Fall," there are other great songs that you couldn't hear two years ago, such as "Don't Stop Me Now," "The Show Must Go On," "Tie Your Mother Down," and "I Want to Break Free." (In particular, “The Show Must Go On” was played only on the first day). The Golden Greatest Hits alone is great, but even more than that is the magic of “QUEEN + Budokan”. Throughout the show, the members themselves repeatedly make comments about "Nippon Budokan." Adam said, ``It's unbelievable to sing Queen's music here (Nippon Budokan). Freddie is always in my heart and I sing for him.'' Brian May said, ``I'm back. Good evening, everyone. Tokyo is amazing! Please sing with me,'' he says in Japanese. An even more special scene is before “Love Of My Life.” Brian says, ``Wait a minute, please take a selfie. The selfie stick is a great Japanese invention,'' as he pulls out a selfie stick and rotates 360 degrees to show himself with the audience. After about 3 rotations, laughter leaks from the audience, and this warm breathing feeling is what QUEEN is all about. It's Nippon Budokan. This was the first Nippon Budokan performance in 31 years, and it also marked the 25th anniversary of Freddie's death. In that octagonal space, there were not only QUEEN and Adam, but also the audience who had been waiting for this day, and the presence of Freddie. A famous recording of the audience that perfectly depicts the space with the finest sound. Because it is the "real sound" that reaches the audience seats, there is a sense of communion between the stage and the audience, which permeates the whole body and shakes the heart inexplicably. An emotional recording of an audience recording that goes beyond a mere ultra-high-quality sound board.
