The 1990 Japan concert, which took place while "BATMAN" was No. 1 in the US, has been decided to be released in the highest quality version ever! This work includes the "August 31, 1990 Tokyo Dome Performance." It is a full-scale TV broadcast pro shot that has been famous since that time. First, let's look back at the show's position from the overall Japan schedule. August 30: Tokyo Dome August 31: Tokyo Dome ←★This★ September 2: Hanshin Koshien Stadium September 6: Sapporo Makomanai Outdoor Stadium September 10: Yokohama Stadium (final day of the tour) Thus, their third visit to Japan, which was part of the "NUDE TOUR," consisted of a total of five performances. The highlight was the two-day performance at Tokyo Dome, and this work is a multi-camera pro shot filmed on the second day. Because it is such a famous broadcast, many titles have been released, but this work is the pinnacle. It is a direct digitization of the original master that was treasured by core video enthusiasts. This enthusiast continues to pursue the latest high-end equipment, and even back then, he apparently used professional-grade equipment for both reception and recording. His commitment is clearly evident in the visual beauty of this work. The smooth yet lustrous colors remain as they were back then, as clear as a laser disc. The recording is perfectly preserved, with not a single line noise or distortion, making it hard to believe it was broadcast 31 years ago. It likely had never been played before being digitized, but even the wildly fluttering bangs in the fan's breeze and the visible veins at his temples are captured with utmost clarity. Because it's such a master, the digitization was meticulous and cutting-edge. We commissioned an overseas manufacturer, affiliated with our laser disc reissue series, to extract as much information as possible from the tape using modern professional equipment. It may seem silly to claim this now, but this is the "best ever" and "highest quality ever," sweeping away all previous releases. It's an ultra-high-quality piece that could easily be made into an official DVD. This high-quality portrayal of Prince is at the height of his power, selling out the Tokyo Dome thanks to the smash hit "BATMAN," as mentioned above. His greatest hits tour, the "NUDE TOUR," featured a lavish set and cast, packed with hit songs. The spectacular show unfolds across the screen. From the very beginning, the giant letters "PRINCE" appear onstage, and Prince appears, blue guitar in hand. The Japanese characters for "nude" (nuclear character) inscribed on his white shirt and the Japanese character for "human" (human) in his black pants are also clearly visible. Prince changed costumes multiple times throughout the show, and his black outfit for "Kiss" is emblazoned with the Japanese characters for "love," his orange suit for "Partyman" is emblazoned with the Japanese characters for "Gemini," and his black suit for the encore is emblazoned with the Japanese characters for "Prince" and "nude." Not only Prince, but Rosie Gaines's outfit also carries the word "soul," Miko Waver's is emblazoned with the word "live," and the dancers GAME BOYZ are emblazoned with the word "takeo." Although the professional shots shown on TV broadcasts only capture a small portion of the audience, the footage always has a strong "Japanese feel." Those who attended the live concert on the day might be wondering, "What?" The song order on this broadcast is actually quite different from the live performance. That said, it's not a complete shuffle. There are commercial breaks during the program, and the blocks separated by those breaks are swapped out. To summarize briefly... A: "Take Me With U" - "Alphabet St." (3 songs) → Commercial → B: "Kiss" - "Purple Rain" (2 songs) → Commercial → C: "The Question Of U" - "Do Me, Baby" (3 songs) → Commercial → D: "The Future" - "Sexy Dancer" (4 songs) → Commercial → E: "Little Red Corvette" - "Partyman" (3 songs) → Commercial → F: "Baby I'm A Star" (1 song) ...and so on. While this is the recording order for this album, the actual stage progression was "D→B→A→C→E→F." While we considered returning the songs to their original order, we decided to preserve the broadcast's sense of the era and record them as is. Another element of the broadcast's sense of the era is the inclusion of the original commercials. While these would normally be cut, the commercials exude a truly quintessential "scent of the era." A Diamond Girls band appears, and a car commercial plays a song by a male duo arrested for methamphetamine use. The "Video Wonderland" tagline is nostalgic, while the commercials showcasing land speculation are a tribute to the late-Bubble era. Furthermore, a female celebrity who broke out on a late-night band boom TV show appears, while a dodgy detective chats in a phone booth, a Be-Bop High School member promotes high-definition faxing, and a woman in shoulder pads turns out to be the wife of a wild synth player. The scent of that era, when people believed their extravagant lives would last forever, is so strong it's almost suffocating. Of course, the nostalgic commercials are merely a bonus. Prince's brilliance is the main focus, and the commercials are, so to speak, the seasoning that coats that brilliance with the scent of the times. Yes, Prince and his "NUDE TOUR" shone in the midst of this era. This gives you that realistic feel. A video enthusiast who loves Prince so much did everything he could to record this masterpiece of professional shots. With that passion and history packed into the DVD, we've packed everything, including the commercials that are full of the era. The Tokyo Dome...no, the BIG EGG, was filled with Prince's brilliance at the height of his power. This is a cultural heritage that allows you to witness that dazzling concert in the highest quality ever.
