Prince's last live performance at Paisley Park in 2015, and effectively their last live as a band, has been unearthed. An audience recording of the party held at Paisley Park on October 24, 2015 to commemorate the release of Judith Hill's first album. . It was held in the smaller NPGMC room rather than the larger The Sound Stage. There are some parts where the sound is a little cracked, probably because it's coming from the venue. However, since it has been thoroughly remastered, it is easier to listen to, so I don't really care. The members include Kirk Johnson on drums, Mononeon on bass, Donna Grantis on guitar, Adrian Crutchfield on saxophone and wind synth, and Judith Hill and Prince. First, they play an elegant and very funky jazz instrumental for about 4 minutes, which serves as an intro, and then transitions into a very thrilling new version of All The Crtics. Prince plays most of the keyboards as well as the vocals, so he becomes the main focus of this song and drives the performance. What Prince refers to as an electric solo is not a keyboard, but a wind synthesizer that allows you to control the synth using the playing style of a wind instrument. It sounds very interesting. Prince's band style in 2016 may have favored wind synths. And the mononeon bass is vibrant and funky, which is a great talent. In Stratus, Donna's guitar roars, Prince plays the elegant piano, Mononeon plays the elegant bass, and other members also perform outstanding solos. Then, after being introduced to Prince, Judith Hill, the main character at the time, appeared (actually, she played two songs before this live performance, and those two songs are included as bonus tracks on Discs 2 and 3). . Adrian's saxophone sounds in the soulful version of My People, and Zapp's More Bounce To The Ounce-style cutting doesn't forget the funkness. Prince also sings in the second half, and the band is in an upbeat mood, making it a long version of just under 10 minutes. And then I went straight to a cover of Bill Withers' Use Me. Prince sings with a strong voice and requests the audience's cooperation while developing a groovy performance. Donna's funky guitar solo is so cool that it makes you shiver. And the performance continued without interruption, creating a slightly disturbing sound. This is the live version of Ruff Enuff. Prince's voice is funky, and as the direction of the sound gradually settles, Prince finally begins to sing. There is a vocal version of the studio take, in which Adrian sings with a vocoder (named the talking saxbox), but here it is the Prince version. It's obvious that Prince sings this song, but it's a very Prince-like song, and it's a pop performance that makes you want to dance. The performance ended with the audience repeating Judith's album title, Back In Time, and the intro began with a sample of Prince's song from the Millon $ Show. Judith sings as if jumping out of there. Although it is a reproduction of the studio version, it is still played a little longer, and it has a live feel, making it a very happy performance. And then there's the sudden change: Sly plays Thank You. With Prince singing well, interesting keyboard sounds, and a cool development from the middle, it is a Thank You song that is unique to this band. Judith is participating in the chorus. Here, the guitar seems to be by Prince, but when combined with the keyboard, it becomes Alphabet St., which develops into a funky sound. Eventually, the guitar becomes more rockish, and it becomes an American Woman-style jam. When the audience noticed this flow, they all responded by shouting. Then, just as if this was the end, Prince sang Sign O The Times, adding olio and ooh, followed by a keyboard solo, and Gunnai! Prince said in greeting. However, it became 777-9311, and Prince himself reproduced the difficult drumming of this song. The mononeon bass is also vibrant, and it has a funkness that is different from the usual sampling set. And then to Hot Thing. Prince takes the vocals well, but he also sings in an interesting way. It's also funky with cutting guitar. This was Prince's last test performance with the band, and Prince and his friends were heading to even greater heights. This is a very rare live show. Disc 2 is a live performance at Paisley Park on November 6, 2015 entitled Bringyojammies #1. The sound quality is a very realistic and good audience recording. Starting with the usual Let's Go Crazy, that's not it at all! What a shocking 21 minute version! It's probably the first time we've played for this long, other than rehearsals. A suspicious guitar plays as early as the intro. Then, after 5 minutes, it turned into a jam with a different rough cut of rough funk and Adrian Crutchfield's saxophone. The background is Kirk's drums, solid and probably in the style of Let's Go Crazy. Donna's sharp guitar, mono neon heavy bass, Prince's ominous keyboard, and again the saxophone. It's a freaky and jazzy jam, but Prince's keyboard controls the whole thing, making it cohesive. After 14 minutes, Prince finally starts singing Let's Go Crazy in a whisper. It's a style of singing and development that I've never heard before. This time, I thought it was going to be a calm organ jazz, but it turned into a slightly experimental mood with some bouncing and strange effects, but it quickly took a turn for the worse, and Prince started singing again, and the saxophone came in, creating a loose funky sound. It will be a version. However, Donna plays the usual guitar solo and the keyboard also comes in, giving us a glimpse of the irregularities and keeping you entertained. Adrian! The saxophone solo jumps out from Prince's cry, and the excitement gets more and more exciting. From the second half onwards, it becomes a funky Let's Go Crazy, and the song closes with the usual sustain guitar. However, it continued on to The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker. It's still a very jazzy version, with lively piano phrases. Prince is in a very good mood as he sings while taking a bit of time. Adrian's flute playing is also elegant, and the version with a lot of instrumental parts is just under 5 minutes long, and then the instrumental changes to Xpectation. This rare song continues for a solid and noble 4 minutes and then goes on to Sly's Thankful N' Thoughtful. That's what the song is all about, but it develops in a complicated way, with the background being In Time. The old-fashioned electric piano-like sound cuts in and surprises you, and the saxophone also gives off a nice touch. Everything about Prince's dialogue with the audience, the wah-wah guitar, the trembling bass, and the perfectly timed introduction of the vocals in You Can Make If You Try are all funky. You're The One For Me, a cover of D Train, is a jazz version, but it has an uptempo feel similar to Delirious, and the thrilling guitar arrangement makes your body move. And from that sharp guitar lingering sound, the song ends with a raging heavyweight funkness and a ferocious rush of Days Of Wild. The audience was overjoyed and Prince also thanked him. The arrangement has a new manner in everything from the effect sounds, cutting, horns, and details to the jam in the second half, which greatly increases the value of this masterpiece. It's a very valuable live show that gives us the only glimpse of Prince's new band, but the content is also extremely agony. It's a miracle that such a sound source still exists, and I'm very grateful. In addition, one of the first two songs of Judith Hill's live performance on October 24th on Disc 1, A Trains Go By, is recorded by the audience. Judith finally begins to sing after the long funky intro, Prince's voice can be heard and he sings, and there is also a scene where Judith and Judith sing in harmony. The guitar, saxophone, and dizzying length of just under 20 minutes allow you to deeply enjoy Prince and the band's outstanding performances. Disc 3 is also amazing. In 2016, Prince held a piano set-only concert at Paisley Park and on his Piano and a Microphone Tour. It was a wonderful thing that was always changing like a kaleidoscope, but the prototype was a very valuable live performance at Paisley Park entitled Bringyojammies #2 on November 7, 2015. After lightly playing Diamonds And Pearls as an intro, he suddenly performed the rare If Eye Could Get Ur Attention, an old song that was re-recorded with the intention of being included in the album Hinrun Phase Two, but I decided to play it on the piano for now. That's what I was doing. This was not played on the later Piano Microphone Tour either. Then, Raspberry Beret, which everyone sang in chorus, and Starfish And Coffee, which the audience listened to as they sang well, continued to play the outro even after the performance had finished, making it a long performance of 3 minutes and 10 seconds. Then it flows into Sweet Thing, but first of all, it is sung in a very broken manner. And it's shocking that it's actually a mashup with Starfish And Coffee. Something In The Water is just a piano, but it's refreshing to see him sing and play in a slow and relaxed manner. The beautiful melody of “With You” eventually takes on a sad tone. There will be applause. It looks like the band members have come in. Prince singing When Will We B Paid? And the saxophone also overlaps in a shimmering manner. Kirk Johnson's drumming is also included, giving it a band sound, and from there it transitions to Black Muse with the piano as the bridge. There is a piano-only version of this, but the band sound here is great. Prince also sings well and plays the saxophone. The mononeon bass solo is also full of groove. When Will We B Paid? is also sung, with Donna playing a funky wah-wah guitar. Adrian's saxophone was also introduced by Prince, and at the end there was a very funky drumming by Kirky J, and from there it was a slow groove by Girls & Boys. And Prince sings. The band sound continues, Prince sings Love Or Money one after another, but the lyrics change, and the horn phrase of Girls & Boys overlaps, making the band mash up. Then, Prince starts to play a heavy beat, saying he's going to play boogie, leaving a faint trace of the rhythm of Girls & Boys. With its light horns, interesting keyboard phrases, Prince's screams, and piercing guitar, it can be called a new kind of jazz. It is said that Prince and his friends were working on an album called Black Is New Black, which contained nine songs, and there are rumors that this song might be the title song. Finally, all the band members came together to finish with an amazing Stratus. The first half is a piano set and the second half is a band set, which is irregular, but this is the last band performance of Adrian, Mononeon, Donna, Kirk and others as Black Is New Black. Disc 1 includes Cry, Cry, Cry, one of the first two songs from Judith Hill's live performance on October 24th. Although Prince is included in the 14-minute long version, you can fully enjoy the rich music of the band and Judith. And it comes with a DVD. This is Judith Hill's album release party, but it was shot on a smartphone in her hometown. Her piano set will be used for about 30 minutes, performing songs from the album Back In Time. There is one cover song, Pure Imagination from the musical Dream Chocolate Factory. It's a very beautiful live performance. Then there's the video Prince posted on Instagram, seven shots that partially capture Let's Go Crazy at Paisley Park on November 6, 2015. Although it is only 15 seconds long, you can get a glimpse of how the super long version of Let's Go Crazy was performed. Also includes a one-minute video of the plectrum electrum on the 7th the next day.
