Pink Floyd's much-anticipated debut sound source, which is causing a huge tremor in the sound source world, will be released this weekend! It's been a year and a half since Floyd officially ended his activities. During that time, there were strong titles such as ``HAKONE APHRODITE 1971: Remastered & Restored (Sigma 139)'', the first appearance of Hakone Aphrodite in 1971, and ``APHRODITE 1971: PEACE RECORD'', a reprint of the original Peace Record, but as expected, Many people may be relaxed, thinking that there is no sound source with that much impact. However, just the other day (April 2016), the complete first appearance sound source from 1970, whose existence was not even known until now, was discovered, and the Floyd sound source world has become a hot topic. It was a performance in Gothenburg, Sweden, on November 11, 1970, and many avid fans will remember something like, "November 11, 1970...huh?" Sho. The sound source of this day was the unofficial analog LP "PICTURES OF PINK FLOYD (Topsound Quality Records - QR 70001, 179101)" which was a famous standard sound source, but the sound source that was discovered for the first time in history was completely different from that. This is because the performance is recorded. In other words, "PICTURES OF PINK FLOYD", which has been believed for a long time to have been performed on November 11, 1970, is actually a performance on a completely different day, and here is the genuine performance on November 11, 1970. This is because it suddenly appeared with exceptional sound quality!! However, first of all, the question naturally arises as to why this can be called the real performance on November 11, 1970. There is a little story in this recording regarding this, so I would like to introduce it first. The year was 1994, and Mr. A, who published this source online, was at a record store in Gothenburg that he often frequented at the time, and the store owner and his friend Mr. B held the event there in 1970. I hear that Mr. B actually watched Floyd's performance and recorded it on a 90-minute cassette tape. Mr. A, who was interested, asked the shop owner, ``I would like to listen to that recording too,'' and to his surprise, the shop owner borrowed the 90-minute tape from Mr. B (with whom he has now become estranged) and recorded it himself. He transferred it to his own reel tape, and says he has what is probably the only copy of the recording. About a year after being told, ``If you find the tape, I'll lend it to you,'' it was discovered in the attic of the store owner's parents' house in 1995, and in June 1995, Mr. A borrowed it and used it for his own use. The origin of this source is the one that was copied to , but first of all, this local episode shows that this recording is the genuine Gothenburg performance on November 11, 1970 (*The Gothenburg performance in 1970 was only on this day) That's why). However, the story does not end there. According to the testimony of the store owner who went to the local performance with Mr. B, Mr. B recorded the recording while sitting in the 10th row of the venue (*The owner was apparently in the 28th row), and that he used the same device at the time. The exact location where Mr. B recorded and the master tape he used are also known, including that the recording tape he made was a C-90. It is also known that when the shop owner borrowed the master tape from Mr. B and transferred it to his own reel (around the end of 1970), the young shop owner performed fade processing on some songs. This is because the master tape that Mr. B was recording was a 90-minute tape as mentioned earlier, and when Mr. B was concerned about the remaining amount of tape during recording and interrupted recording between songs, there was a feeling of cracking. It seems like it was for relief. Despite Mr. B's efforts to conserve the remaining amount, the recording was interrupted in the middle of ``Mystery'', but all nine tracks included here are not only the first appearance as a sound source, but also the first time they have been performed live. Since it has appeared, it can be said to be a doubly great excavated sound source. Furthermore, in 1995, when Mr. A borrowed this only tape copy from the store owner, Mr. A was working at a certain sound studio, and used the professional equipment and recording techniques available there to digitize it (* DAT conversion) also increases the value of this source. Since it was digitized using Mr. A's professional techniques and the sound studio's commercial equipment, the sound quality is also surprisingly excellent. However, Mr. A did not remaster the song, so it was true that the released source still had small noises and slight deterioration that were thought to be caused by the master in some places in the song. That's where Sigma comes in, with its advanced knowledge and technology in sound image refinement. Since this is the complete first sound source that has appeared in the Floyd sound source world for the first time in a long time, our label has carefully refined the sound of this source using the latest equipment to perfectly reproduce the rawness of the performance and recording from 46 years ago. We succeeded in perfectly releasing the original sound and powerful sound. It may have originally been a special source with excellent sound quality, but even enthusiastic fans who have already listened to this public source on the Internet cannot listen to the sound that has been restored to its original state with such precision. I'm sure it's not. Also, it is noteworthy that not only the sound quality but also from a documentary perspective, the performance pattern of the day was brought out with such precision. It is clear to everyone that this work is the latest and strongest press of this complete first appearance and large excavated sound source!!The amazing excavated sound source with its wonderful sound quality is “Heavenly”. From the beginning of ``Domination of the World'', it emits the dazzle of a supernova explosion, and a thick and wild sound explodes from the start of the disc. The excitement of Roger's eerie and hooky real voice and elastic expression that spreads throughout the midrange also gives off a great charm, and you can see that the massive sound pressure feeling you receive in the 10th row of the venue is transmitted from beginning to end. ``Fat and Yoyoro no Taiyo'' will have your ears glued to the beautiful guitar sound. Not only the sweet and short phrases that intertwine throughout the song, but also the melody that can be heard in the guitar solo in the middle has beautiful shadows, and the diffusion of romantic sound that is spun from 10 minutes 09 seconds is a special sound that listens to the ears. It makes me happy. On the other hand, in the scene where the organ and bass start to stand out around 5 minutes and 49 seconds, the tones of the two instruments are vividly captured, and the mysterious floating feeling appears in the most sensual form, so please pay attention. “Cimbaline” starts with a cut-in, but the long-breathing melody is flexibly connected, and the sound comes out with a high quality documentary quality. You can hear that the bass movement with the hook has a thick tone that enhances the persuasiveness of the midrange, and the way the gong bursts into the footsteps scene is exquisite. By the way, regarding this footsteps scene, the store manager who watched the performance with Mr. B said, ``During the footsteps scene, the venue was pitch black, and the footsteps could be heard spinning 360 degrees from the surrounding speakers in the darkness. There are vivid testimonies about the sound group moving device and lighting used on that day, and I think listening to it without imagining it will stimulate your imagination even more. It is also nice that there is a tuning scene for about 1 and a half minutes after the end of the song. ``Atomic Heart Mother'' is a normal band performance version, and on this day you can enjoy a performance that clearly shows the chain and release process created by the interaction of four people. The lively drumming at around 1 minute 25 seconds has an expressive power unique to this day, and the slide guitar that comes in at 3 minutes 44 seconds sings the song more eloquently and loudly than other performances from the same period. The way it soars up and down is attractive. Also, in the guide vocal scene that follows, the two-voice harmony develops with a really vivid sound image, and the bass from around 13 minutes 56 seconds to around 14 minutes 28 seconds can't be heard much during other performances of the same period. You should also keep an eye out for any suspicious movements. In "Embryo," you can hear the subtle changes in expression that sway within the musical throbbing, and the combination of the sometimes shrill, screeching guitar and mellow singing voice moves the deepest parts of the soul. The visual effects of the slide guitar cry, electric piano, and organ (flute/mellotron?) that appear in the middle section are truly vivid, and are sure to heighten the excitement of hearing this recording for the first time. It's a shame that "Mr. B" became concerned about the amount of tape remaining and faded out at the end of the song (*This must have been done by the "store manager"), but the next song "Green is the Color" Unfortunately, it was cut out just 30 seconds after the performance started. However, I would like to strongly note that although it is only 30 seconds, you can fully feel the beautiful guitar sound unique to Gilmore in the introduction. "Eugene" is also cut in with about a minute of the introduction lost, but on this day, the performance was exceptional in how it grasped and threw the image as a sound drama, and the expressions gripped the senses. You will be able to enjoy the perspective and the vivid sound image. The interesting scene in which the thick guitar after Scream doesn't gradually tone down on this day, but suddenly disappears at around 8 minutes 05 seconds, is clearly captured, so please take a look at this as well. I think so. “Song of the Sun” has a dynamic introduction in which the tone generator rises noisily, and the dazzling intersection of the vivid organ and magical rhythm pattern over Roger’s suppressed whisper stands out with a wonderful sound. I'll come. Even in the scene where the song becomes loud in the middle, the musical intonation is captured with a straight sound image, and you can clearly feel the musical driving force obtained by accelerating the tempo. In the middle of the song, when the rhythm disappears, the strange layering of sounds unique to this day will appear as a wonderful sound image, with a floating feeling, so please look forward to it. ``Mystery'' was recorded for just under 6 minutes due to the tape running out, but it also produced a very sharp sound with a brutal and bizarre world view that you would not be able to experience in other days' performances. I can't resist it because it's coming. In particular, the scene where the guitar and gong make sound together is very vivid, and although it is broken, it has a dense documentary quality that sticks in your mind. Since the original is a 90 minute tape, it cannot be denied that it is an incomplete recording. However, the local newspaper "GT" magazine, which reported on the live performance on that day, later wrote in its article that "the concert lasted approximately 3 hours" (*This is probably the total time including waiting time. Judging from the sound source from the same period, the actual performance part would have been about 2 hours and 15 minutes), so in any case, a 90-minute tape was not enough. However, in 2016, it is amazing that 9 long songs have been released for the first time, and they are of exceptional sound quality. The situation is also full of the freshness of an excavated sound source. (*The actual length of a 90-minute tape is approximately 47 minutes per side, with some variation, so strictly speaking, you can enjoy approximately 94 minutes of high-quality, high-quality sound in this recording.) Also, if this happens, I'm also curious about when exactly "PICTURES OF PINK FLOYD", which was thought to be November 11, 1970, was performed. I can't say anything about this at the moment, but for that reason, this sound source can be said to be a sound source that makes us aware of our overconfidence and arrogance that "this live is sure to happen on this day", and it can be said that it is a sound source that makes us aware of our overconfidence and arrogance that "this live is sure to happen on this day". It is also a title that tickles intellectual curiosity and room for sound source verification. This latest work from Sigma has all of the above-mentioned topics, the value of 9 songs appearing for the first time, and above all, the ability to listen to the already excellent sound quality in an even more perfect form.It can be said that this latest work from Sigma is a title that should not be missed. . This is the first completely new sound source of the violent sound that has appeared in the Floyd sound source world for the first time in a long time. Please pick up this work this weekend and check out the impact as soon as possible!!
