A complete recording of the Columbia performance on April 16th, the third day of the first North American tour in 1972, with a high-quality audience recording. Contains the version that is considered the most Low Master that has appeared in recent years. In the past, there were uncollected versions of Echoes in the collector world due to the difference in the generation of the original sound source, but in 2006, the longest version that included Echoes appeared (at that time, it was titled "SOUTH SIDE OF THE DAY") Since then, it has been considered the definitive album of the day. Compared to "SOUTH SIDE OF THE DAY", it is easy to see that due to the difference in generation, there is less hiss noise, less roughness of the sound, and a clearer sound. The 2006 version had a sound that made you wonder if there was a better version, but this version has an overwhelming sound texture and persuasion that makes you think that there is nothing better than this, considering the level of perfection of the sound. Full of power. The vivid and deep sound captured from close to the stage is truly exquisite. This sound source has a cut at 15:38 of Atom Heart Mother, but in the 2006 version, that cut was patched from the beginning of Atom Heart Mother, and you can see that it was created as if it were connected. This performance includes "The Massed Gadgets Of Hercules 1970-1974," which was also released in recent years, but the GF version, like the 2006 version, inserts the cut part of Atom Heart Mother from the beginning, and crossfades it. However, some of the original sound source is missing. It should be concluded that such processing is completely unnecessary for such historical sound sources. In addition, the GF edition fades out after the announcement after the show, but this edition continues with the 20 seconds of the post-show recorded on the master, as well as the voices of the recorders who have not yet recorded the GF edition. Conversations that can be heard are also recorded in a large size. Although it has nothing to do with the performance, this part is important as a record of the recording. The performance on this day is very wonderful, and you can enjoy a live performance that is incomparable to the Florida / Hollywood performance on the 15th the previous day that can be heard on the bonus disc. The ``Madness'' that allows you to listen to the well-controlled performance is exquisite, and the excellent performance that makes you think that it can change so much in just one day is the best word. In the second half of each of Money and Us And Them, Gilmore performs a truly original solo. These are definitely one of my favorite places to listen to. In the middle of One Of These Days, Rick will show off his powerful synth play. Careful With That Ax, Eugene allows you to enjoy Gilmore's solid guitar solo, Roger's effective scream, and Floyd's stage where everything is well said with wonderful sound. Echoes, and the rare encore Atom Heart Mother at this time, you can listen to a masterpiece that lives up to its name, where you can feel the strong control in the large-scale performance. The definitive edition of the famous Columbia performance at the beginning of the first North American tour in 1972. It is a must-listen title that is sure to leave long-time fans deeply moved, and new collectors wonder, "Are there still such amazing sound sources left?"
