From the world tour accompanying "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason", Floyd's first performance in 1989, from his first performance in Russia to the first day of the Moscow Olympic Stadium performance on June 3rd, is completely recorded and first appeared for 2 hours and 34 minutes with a high-quality audience recording. Although the sound image makes you feel the distance from the stage, the sound is fresh and recorded clearly with a stable sound overall. The sound source itself is the same as that circulating among traders, but the master of this board uses a digital copy obtained from the tape owner ("Alexandria") in the past via a Floyd collector overseas, and the recording time is slightly longer than the trader take. The Moscow audience is listening relatively quietly, but for some reason, loud applause and cheers arise at the end of the first part, On The Turning Away. After the show, you can hear Gilmour's greeting in Russian, although it is a long way off. Disc 2 is 80 minutes long and is recorded quite beautifully, such as the beginning of Time and the percussive performance of On The Run. The Great Gig In The Sky erupts into loud applause. The acoustic parts of songs like Wish You Were Here are also recorded beautifully. The guitar solo part of Money is also recorded clearly, making it a great listen. Another Brick In The Wall Part 2 seems to be well-known and has been particularly well-received. After the show, Comfortably Numb starts dramatically amidst screams in Russian. The guitar solo in the second half and the solid drum sounds are well-captured, making it a great listen. The sound of Run Like Hell, the last encore, seems to be getting further away, probably because of the excitement in the venue, but the sound is fresh and you can hear it clearly, including the synth lead in the middle. I was moved by the fact that this song was being performed live for the first time in the huge Olympic Stadium of the former Soviet Union. It may be said that this take is more valuable as a document than as a sound quality, but the two-minute recording of the "Pink Floyd! Pink Floyd!" call after the show and the excitement and heat of the venue are also interesting to listen to. In 1989, many Western bands performed in Russia as the waves of perestroika swept over the former Soviet Union, and it was a year that became a kind of boom, but Pink Floyd in particular seemed to be very popular in the Soviet Union, and five shows were held at the large Olympic Stadium from June 3rd to 8th, and were a great success. (The June 7th show was canceled due to a large train accident that occurred at the time.) Cuts and analog noise have been carefully removed as much as possible, so it is definitely the best version. This is the only confirmed recording of the first day of the Moscow 5-Days held in the former Soviet Union, and although the sound quality is average, it is definitely a must-have for collectors.
