In the summer of 2013, a 10-track soundboard recording of the San Diego performance on April 21, 1975, suddenly appeared, with a total recording time of 66 minutes and 40 seconds. The original was an analog record, a single LP called "California Soundboard", and of the 300 pressed, the first 100 came with a bonus analog disc, the "C side" of which contained 22 minutes of Echoes. The title this time was designed to resemble an LP jacket, but the problem is the contents. Since it is a wake-up from the analog A, B, and C sides, there are occasional needle cracks, but the quality of the record is of the finest class, and what was recorded there is an unmistakable 1975 San Diego ultra-high quality stereo soundboard! . Of course, it is a different master from the audience recording "San Diego 1975", and the sound quality is recorded with ultra-high quality that cannot be compared to the AUD record. If you listen to the opening song Speak to Me thinking it's an audience recording, you'll be blown away by Breath. By the way, the back cover of the original LP says "for the first time available, a top quality tape recorded directly from the mixing desk" (!). The sound of the analog tape sometimes deteriorates (notable in The Great Gig In The Sky), so it's not perfect, but there's no doubt that it's a pretty good one. The best thing would be for a full-length version of the soundboard (?) tape before this analog tape was made to appear in a fresher form and be made into a CD, but I think that's quite unlikely. In any case, regardless of the stance, shape, or content, there's no doubt that this is a super important sound source that will remain in the history of Floyd sound sources. This "new sound source" is a hot topic all over the world. Please enjoy it for 66 minutes (the high pitch in the original has been accurately corrected). It's truly an amazing piece.
