This unprecedented, never-before-heard recording from over 55 years ago has been unexpectedly unearthed! Now available on CD in its finest version. This work permanently preserves the "October 18, 1970 San Diego Performance." It's a superb audience recording. 1970 was the year of the legendary album "Atom Heart Mother," which paved the way for progressive rock. Our shop has archived as many masterpieces as possible from this era, which evolved dramatically with each performance. First, let's examine the position of this work while also organizing the collection.・January 10th - February 28th: Europe #1 (18 shows) ←※LIVE AT LEEDS, etc. (Production of "Atom Heart Mother" began on March 1st) ・March 5th - 30th: Europe #2 (15 shows) ←※NUREMBERG 1970, etc. ・April 9th - May 16th: North America #1 (17 shows) ←※FILLMORE WEST 1970, etc. (Tour interrupted due to equipment theft) ・June 27th - July 26th: Europe #3 (7 shows) ←※HYDE PARK 1970, etc. (Recording of "Atom Heart Mother" completed on July 26th) ・August 8th - September 12th: Europe #4 (4 shows) ・September 26th - October 25th: North America #2 (20 shows) ←★Here★ ・November 6th - December 22nd: Europe #5 (21 shows) ←※HANOVER 1970, etc. This is PINK FLOYD in 1970. "Atom Heart Mother" was released during "North America # 2", and this work's San Diego performance was also one of those acts. Let's focus on the schedule further here. Details of "North America # 2" * September 26th "ELECTRIC FACTORY 1970" * September 27th "FILLMORE EAST 1970 (Early Show)" ・ September 27th - October 2nd (3 performances) {"Atom Heart Mother" released on October 2nd} ・ October 3rd - 15th (9 performances) * October 16th "PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL" ・ October 17th: San Rafael performance * October 18th: San Diego performance ←★This work★ ・ October 21st: San Francisco performance * October 23rd "SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970" ・ October 25th: Boston performance A completely first-ever recording that appeared in 2025 This is the fifth record, and is the third in the series to feature the masterpieces "PEPPERLAND 70: 1ST GEN REEL" and "SANTA MONICA This concert, located exactly midway through the "October 1970: Revisited" series, was a hidden gem, with no recordings of the San Diego performance known to date. However, it was suddenly discovered in the spring of 2025. It wasn't traded or released online, but rather on the internationally produced LP "A Psychedelic Breakfast," limited to 300 copies. This release is a direct transfer from that stunning LP. It's a top-of-the-line update, meticulously mastered by GRAF ZEPPELIN. What's truly striking is the sound. While it doesn't quite surpass the tour's No. 1, the powerful core rumbles without any sense of distance, and even the finest details are clearly discerned. And what's more, it's a stunning stereo recording. It's a blessing that they even managed to capture it in stereo in the 1970s, and the quality is truly outstanding. The beautiful expanse of the sound immerses you in a psychedelic world, and the separation is superb. Every single subtle picking and subtle ornamentation is beautifully preserved, and even when they overlap, they don't blend together. This is a top-of-the-line album that's been significantly upgraded from the original LP sound. Furthermore, this album is also a top-of-the-line update that dramatically elevates this original sound source. First of all, the composition. The track order on the LP "A PSYCHEDELIC BREAKFAST" was quite abruptly rearranged in order to fit it onto a two-disc vinyl set. This album has been reordered to match the live performance on the day. Let's now restore the anticipated set from that day. Setlist for the day [A1] Astronomy Domine (x) Fat Old Sun (unreleased) (x) Cymbaline (unreleased) (x) Atom Heart Mother (unreleased) (x) Embryo (unreleased) [C1] Green Is The Colour [C2] Careful With That Axe, Eugene [A2] Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun [D] A Saucerful of Secrets [B] Interstellar Overdrive (encore) *Note: The numbers in [ ] are the recording sides of the original LP. ...And so it goes. This recording is not the full version, with four songs missing from the middle. In fact, on this day, "Alan's Psychedelic It has been said as an urban legend that "Breakfast" was played on this recording (which is also the origin of the LP title), but this was not included. The sound throughout the entire album has also been upgraded. Of course, the needle pops and hum noises that are unique to LP recordings have been thoroughly treated, but that's not the point. First of all, the sound image is completely different from the first listen. Those who have experienced the original LP may know that the tape on this recording had deteriorated slightly, spoiling the bass. This work fully repairs these shortcomings. The proximity The sound produced on the day has been reproduced as closely as possible, using the recording as a reference. It has been reborn as something completely different. In fact, you can listen to the original sound on YouTube, but please be careful not to underestimate its thin sound. You will be left wondering, "Is this really the same recording!?" What's even more impressive is the pitch. The original LP was unstable and fluctuated randomly (not due to distortion caused by digitization, but because the LP itself was recorded with distortion), but this has been corrected with obsessive precision. Again, this is an incredible improvement for anyone who has experienced the original sound, and it has been improved to the point where there is almost no sense of incongruity when listening. "GRAF Zeppelin mastering is characterized by an extraordinary amount of work and precision, and this upgrade truly shows that. 55 years have passed since the show. Who would have thought we'd encounter a completely unreleased sound source? This is a transcription of the two-LP "A Psychedelic Breakfast," which is said to have been suddenly released around April 2025. It features the completely unreleased performance at the University of California, San Diego, on October 18, 1971. Judging by the sound texture and the sound of a dog barking, it appears to have been an outdoor performance. The sound quality is excellent in stereo audio, and while there is some close-up hiss, it's not particularly noticeable. As mentioned above, it's a vinyl transcription, but to a casual listener, it's hard to believe. However, recently, there have been occasional vinyl releases of unreleased sound sources, like this one. Unfortunately, not all tracks are included; Fat Old Sun, Cymbaline, and Embryo appear to be missing. The LP title "A Psychedelic Breakfast" also refers to the "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" sound. The title appears to be based on an urban legend (?) that "Breakfast" was performed on this recording, but its authenticity is unknown. The pitch of the original recording, which was distorted and fuzzy, has been adjusted as much as possible, resulting in a nearly natural sound. Hum noise has also been removed. While unassuming, the effect is noticeable in quiet sections and between songs. This is a superb audience recording of the "October 18, 1970 San Diego performance." This complete recording was released in 2025. While the source material, the overseas LP "A Psychedelic Breakfast," had different songs and some distortion, this release is a top-of-the-line update, refined with meticulous mastering by GRAF ZEPPELIN. It's upgraded to a completely different level, making it a must-listen album that allows you to experience the joy of hearing a live performance for the first time in the highest quality.
