One of the most legendary recordings that have represented the “MEDDLE Tour” has been upgraded. What is recorded in the legendary recording is “Cleveland performance on November 6, 1971”. This is an audience recording that has handed down the entire view. Speaking of 1971, the excitement of Hakone, which celebrated its 50th anniversary, is still fresh in my memory, but that was the "Atom Shinbo" tour. On the other hand, this work will be a “meddling” tour. In order to sort out the situation, let's take a look at the schedule at that time. “ATOM HEART MOTHER World Tour”《Starting production of “Osekkai” in January》・January 17th – February 27th/April 3rd – July 1st: Europe #1 (28 performances)・August 6th – 15th: Japan/Australia (5 performances)《August “Meddle” completed》・September 18th-30th: Europe #2 (5 performances)《October 4th-7th: Filmed in Pompeii》・October 10th + 11th: UK (2 performances) “MEDDLE Tour” ・October 15th-31st: North America #1a (11 performances) [October 31st “Osekkai” released] ・November 2nd-20th: North America #1b (16 performances) ←★Coco★・December 26th: Appearance at Beat Club [The ultimate master of legendary recordings that conveyed the busybody tour] This is PINK FLOYD in 1971. They started working on ``Meddlesome'' from the beginning of the year, completed the album in August, and began filming the movie in Pompeii in October. “MEDDLE Tour” was a US tour immediately after that. The Cleveland performance of this work was the 5th performance of "North America #1b" (the 16th performance of North America #1 overall), which was one week after the release of "Meddle". Such shows have long been known for their famous recordings. Various titles such as "CLEVELAND 1971" and "ACUTE DANGER" have reigned as standard. This work is not a refining of such a traditional master... Although the recording itself is the same, it is an upgraded version that surpasses the previous master. Speaking of the highest peak before this work, it would be "CLEVELAND 1971", but the difference is obvious. It was published online as ``Master or Low Gen'', and its beauty is shocking. There's no over-peak distortion (!). If you have experienced the conventional version, you probably know that this distortion was the fate of Cleveland recordings. Distortion occurred even in the original master, and it was thought that it was unique at the time of recording. However, this new master does not have that. That distortion was caused by the dubbing and distribution process...and a sound began to emerge that overturned even previous perceptions. That "one-time effort" is precise monauralization. This is a little complicated, so let's talk about it in detail. Originally, this recording was "recorded in monaural on stereo tape." In other words, the same sound is recorded in the left and right channels. As is often the case with vintage recordings, this results in two masters being recorded on one tape. And, as this kind of stereo tape deteriorates over time, a difference is created between the left and right channels. Normally, one channel in good condition is used as a base and the other one is used as a complement, but this work is a little different. Both left and right channels were in equally good condition and sounded great throughout. Therefore, in this work, the left and right channels are completely matrixed. As a result, even if there is a slight drop in the highs on one channel, the other channel will compensate and provide a seamless and stable sound throughout the entire recording. Of course, this is an impossible method that would cause damage or noise to either channel, but it was possible in this work. Of course, it is not enough to simply overlap the left and right channels. This is also a vintage master, but the left and right phases are slightly out of sync. If you stack them as they are, the strength of the sound will be distorted and it may become muddy. Therefore, this work accurately adjusts the pitch of each channel and performs precise phase alignment when layering. We were able to beautifully reproduce the sound as recorded at the scene. “The Embryo”, which will not be played at the end of this tour, “One Of These Days”, which just entered the set, and the iconic big song “Echoes”, etc. As for the splendor of “MEDDLE Tour”, there is no need to spend too much time on it. This is a new master that allows you to experience such a show with the sound as it was on site. The best audience recording of "November 6, 1971 Cleveland Performance". Although it is a traditional recording that represents the “MEDDLE Tour”, this work is not an existing mastering but a new upgraded master. It was released on the internet as ``Master or Low Gen'', and it has the highest quality sound without the over-peak distortion that seemed to be the fate of previous editions. Of course, not only the distortion but also the direct feeling and fineness of detail are on par with or better than the previous best "CLEVELAND 1971". This is a supreme live album that permanently preserves such original sound with precisely adjusted pitch and phase. (Remaster Memo) Same source as the previous edition, but a different master (credited as Master or Low Gen). The point is that there is no over-level distortion that was seen throughout the last edition. The freshness is the same as the previous edition Raw Master, and there is no distortion, so I think this is the best at the moment. (By the way, Y! also has a version released by Mr. Neonkinght, but it has a sharp drop above 15kHz.) Since it was originally recorded in monaural, the left and right channels were mixed to make it monaural. There is no phase shift or sound distortion in one channel like the previous edition. Although some EQ processing has been done, there is almost no increase in sound pressure, so it sounds calmer than the previous album, which had an older sound.
