“SANTA MONICA OCTOBER 1970” (hereinafter referred to as a separate CD) is sure to become a new standard in the future as an unparalleled title for the audience recording of this day. However, another recording source has existed for a long time for this Santa Monica performance on October 23, 1970. For seasoned Floyd fans, I'm sorry to tell you this so late, but this is RECORDER 1, whose existence has been known since the early 1970s, namely TMOQ's 2-disc bootleg LP ``LIVE'' and ``CYMBALINE''. This is the source that was heard on ``LIVE (Dittolino Disc)'' which was released on the TMOQ-affiliated label ``Dittolino Disc''. This RECORDER 1 source was also included as a bonus on Disc 3 of the already released version "CREATURES OF THE DEEP", but this time we have newly added the 2LP master version of "LIVE (Dittolino Disc)" using the latest equipment in 2015. We have decided to reprint it and add some flair to it on a separate CD. The record we used is a mint record owned by the label that is in good condition, so there are no noticeable needle cracks, so you can enjoy the stately sound of RECORDER 1 in its best condition. Please enjoy the charm of recording sources that have been popular for a long time together with the separate CD = RECORDER 2. The original LP consists of 2 discs/4 sections, sides A to D, so the recording order of this disc also follows that, as shown below. Side A / Track 1. Atom Heart Mother (Part One) Side B / Track 2. Atom Heart Mother (Part Two) Side C / Track 3. Sing To Me (Fat Old Sun) Side C / Track 4. Cymbaline Side D / Track 5. A Saucerful Of Secrets This is not the actual flow of the show, and of course it is not a complete recording of that day's performance. I'm glad that most of the things you should listen to are covered. Since the recording location is different from Separate CD = RECORDER 2, you can't miss the fact that you can enjoy the difference in sound source such as sound and sound image. In "Atom Heart Mother (Part One)", the slide guitar from 4 minutes 16 seconds has a different sound than what can be heard on a separate CD, and there is a scene in the middle where the mixed chorus is briefly featured (5 minutes 58 seconds). 9 minutes 42 seconds), you can clearly hear the weak expressions of the bass, guitar, and organ, indicating the high quality of the recording. The B-side of “Atom Heart Mother (Part Two)” starts with a fade in, but the first half of the song (track [1]) fades out with a distinctive guitar melody. It really stands up from that characteristic scene. The dense concerted dialogue between the band, orchestra, and real voices moistens the ears with a richer sound, and the guitar movement that picks up again at around 10 minutes and 40 seconds stands out as much as the others. This is side C from "Sing To Me (Fat Old Sun)". Here, too, the gorgeous blending of sounds is clearly captured, allowing you to enjoy the creative performance unique to this day from a different perspective. The sound of the organ, the real voice, and the guitar threading between the lines will pass your ears with a clear vintage sound, and you will be trembling with the joy of surrendering yourself to the performance while being intoxicated by the depth of the chiseled sound. Masu. “Cymbaline” is a fade-in with a slightly missing beginning, but the moment it starts, a breathtaking atmosphere spreads. You can enjoy the opening and closing of doors and the footsteps of heels in the middle of the song, which have a different sound from the sound image heard on the other CD, and "♪ Cymbal~ine!", which is characteristically sung twice with a raised ending, at the end. If you listen to it with this sound image, you will feel more sadness. "Mystery", which is recorded on the entire D side, is a song that you can enjoy from beginning to end in a different sound than the other CD, and especially in the first half's inspirational sound decoration scene, you can enjoy a sound image that is comparable to the other CD. In addition, the sound skips for a moment at 16 minutes and 6 seconds, but this may be due to deterioration of the master tape, or that part may have been pinched and edited (*If it was a reel tape flip, it would have taken such a short time. If there was no accident and there was an accident, it would probably look a little dirtier). I don't think it's particularly noticeable since it's only about 2 to 3 seconds missing, but I purposely didn't make up for it and left the rawness of the original recording intact.
