The Vienna performance on February 1, 1977 at the beginning of the Animals tour is now the strongest, with reel-to-reel master sound provided directly by an overseas Pink Floyd collector + SBD sound source from the same day + longest 8mm video from the same day. It will be available on vinyl!! When dealing with collector's items, I occasionally come across a title that I thought, "Oh, I want to listen to this," but it has already been sold out or out of print several years ago. In such cases, you have no choice but to wait patiently for such items to appear at auctions or second-hand shops, but there are many other people looking for these items, and as a result, the prices rise unexpectedly and you are unable to sell them. Some people may have had the experience of not being able to come out. The same thing can be said about Floyd, and this tendency seems to be strong in Floyd titles. One of them is a CD + 1 DVD called ``RACIAL VIOLENCE''. ``RACIAL VIOLENCE'' was a title that instantly sold out 300 copies due to the superb content it contained. This is finally here, but this time it is an amazing upper version that uses special low-gen sound sources and video sources that were provided directly to the label by an overseas Floyd specialist collector. The breakdown is that Recorder 1 (* AUD recording), which boasts the highest sound quality in history, which was recorded reel-to-reel from the master recording by the sound source provider, is on discs 1 and 2, and the following disc 3 is a leaked record from the same day. SBD recording, and Disc 4 contains the surprising live footage of the same day captured on 8mm film from the front row of the venue, which is also the ultimate in the highest image quality and longest recording time ever from the provider's treasured Gene Waka source. It is 3CD + 1DVD!! [Discs 1 and 2: Unreleased Recorder 1 / Audience Reel Master] Two AUD recordings have been known for this day's recording, but this one stands out for its good sound quality. It is probably the one known as Recorder 1. The other Recorder 2 is not bad at all, and is a valuable record that captures that day's performance from a different angle, but unfortunately, there are noticeable partial cuts throughout, and there may be a problem with the recorder during recording. Recorder 1 is now the standard when it comes to Vienna in 1977, as it is also known for having severe pitch deviations, perhaps due to deterioration of the master tape over time. This Recorder 1 is a famous recording with excellent original sound quality and excellent sound image stability, so the old version at that time also used the best version (at the time), but this time it has been significantly updated, and the sound source is amazing. We succeeded in recording using a treasured reel tape that was recorded reel-to-reel from the original recorded sound by the provider. This is a Recorder 1 sound that exudes an amazing upper feel, such as beautiful transparency of the sound, precise diffusion of the sound, a sense of attack in the midrange, sharp omission of the treble, and an amazing closeness of the performance sound. , the master sound that can only be obtained by directly dropping the reel tape is showing its appearance for the first time!! The neat and transparent close-range sound image is amazing from the opening "Sheep". The driving feeling underlying the songs explodes one after another with a smooth and glossy sound, and there is no doubt that you will be overwhelmed by the power of the Gene Waka Reel sound from the get-go. In "Dogs," the rhythm section releases massive sound waves that are louder than the old version, and the scene where the twin guitars chirp midway through is the most vivid in the history of the sound source. "Pigs (3 Different Ones)" also appears as a master sound with a low center of gravity and outstanding stability, with the bass range which was a little muffled in the old version, and the guitar solo that comes in for a while after the second verse has a more grainy sound. There's also Roger's faint strange voice that comes in around 6:49-57, the characteristic drumming sound that comes in between 16:00-13, and Roger whispering the number of performances that have been a pleasure in 1977 ( *The whispering of "Six!" at 12:27 can be heard more clearly than in the old version), etc.), etc., and there are many uppercuts that show their faces everywhere. In “Welcome To The Machine,” the unique jangly image of the song pops out with outstanding waveform reproduction, and in “Wish You Were Here,” the sound is so steady and smooth that you can follow the trajectory of the sound. You will definitely feel that it is a reel sound that correctly captures the potential of the original sound. Furthermore, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 6-9)" has an ultra-high quality sound that is filled with the overwhelming sense of scale and playing power unique to 1977, and this is a sound that has been available for 40 years. You will find it hard to believe that this is a recording from the audience seats in front of you. [Disc 3: Ultra-high quality SBD sound source from the same day] Disc 3 includes a soundboard recording of the performance on the same day. This is disc content that was not present in the old version of 2CD + 1DVD, and is a new disc content that has been added to this latest work. Unfortunately, as of 2018, this SBD sound source has only seen the light of day for the last four songs of the show, but this treasure trove of dense real sounds spanning about 40 minutes, including its documentary value, It can be said to be an absolutely indispensable sound source for understanding the performance of the Vienna performance from various angles. At the beginning, the sound range seems a little narrow, but from around 4:46 of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 6-9)" the amplitude of the sound expands dramatically and the charm of line recording explodes. It is full of advantages unique to SBD recording, such as being able to distinguish the two-voice chorus with higher precision than Recorder 1, and being able to clearly track the faint touch and weak tone expressions of the guitar. Another topic is that it picks up the cheers of the audience just right and has a sense of presence, and the fact that it gives a solid sense of presence and spatiality on the day of the scene will make collectors who are strict about sound quality happy. In today's lively and aggressive song "Money," the sharpness of the guitar and saxophone's sounds once again complements the performance, and in "Us And Them," the tones are budding and blooming. There is no doubt that you will be captivated by it. Also, Gilmore's singing voice is closer and clearer than on Recorder 1, so you can more vividly grasp the melodic line of the voice and the breath of the entire performance. [DVD disc: The longest upper version with better image quality and more songs than the previous source] The fourth disc is a DVD and contains the only remaining footage of the Vienna performance on February 1, 1977. The shooting was probably done on the left side of the first floor, probably near the front row, with a small 8mm camera that could fit in the palm of the hand or in a hat, and was based on an 8mm film in which the camera seemed to move according to the movement of the head. I am. The fan site Harvested's "8mm" video from this day is famous, but the one recorded here has more scenes than that, has the longest recording time, and is the best take of the Gene Waka Upper version. Naturally, the image quality has also improved; for example, on this day, Gilmour and Roger are wearing the same tour T-shirts with a pig silhouette printed on them, and even in close-up shots, which are often used, the same black T-shirts are worn. The contrast between the colors of the pig and the pink pig is clear and there is little blurring, and Nick's familiar appearance in a white tank top stands out even more sharply, boasting the highest resolution ever. Most of the songs are still fragmentary, but this work adds three songs that were not included in the previous edition: "Have A Cigar," "Wish You Were Here," and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)." Please pay attention to what is included. "Have A Cigar" shows support guitarist Snowy White playing the Les Paul for a long time, and "Wish You Were Here" is also an excellent song that further supplements the vividness of the scene even though it contains fragments, and is short. However, you will definitely get a strong and sharp feeling of satisfaction. Also, as many of you may know, what's very interesting about this video is that you can clearly see Snowy playing the bass on "Sheep" and "Pigs." Roger was in charge of the rhythm guitar during that time, and only on "Dogs" did Roger play the bass. I don't know if they irregularly replaced the instruments they played on all of their 1977 tours, but it is said that the driving bass notes in their live performances at the time were actually created by Snowy. The fact is surprising, and you can enjoy this scoop video in the highest quality ever. Also, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX)" is a fragmentary song from the middle to the end of the song, but it is worth noting that here you can enjoy the image of Gilmore playing the slide guitar in beautiful image quality for a while. Let's do it. "Money" is recorded from near the end of the second verse, and the development in the middle, where the saxophone appears and becomes a guitar solo, is recorded in a relatively long length. Gilmore's hands are photographed in a fairly close-up, so it is of great historical significance for the performance, and although it is short, it is worth watching. Of course, you can't enjoy the music with a list of these fragmented scenes, but the real pleasure of being able to grasp the state of that day's stage as the best and longest visual information ever has improved dramatically. Also included in the second half is bonus footage that was used on the stage's circular screen during the performance of both songs ``Welcome To The Machine'' and ``Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part VI-VII)'' on the In the Flesh Tour 1977. . This is a video that is also included in the official Immersion Box, but unfortunately the timing of Welcome To The Machine was recorded with a considerable lag when synchronizing the remastered studio sound source, so here it is. Now, you can enjoy the correct timing and synchronized video and audio as per the original. Also, Shine On You Crazy Diamond made the big mistake of synchronizing parts 1 to 4 of the studio sound source with the video in the official box, so here we have synchronized parts 6 to 7 of the live sound source. It is recorded in the correct condition. It is also clear that Rick Wright produced the sound of glass breaking on the keyboard during the North American performance in the latter half of the tour, in order to match this video. Also included is a promotional film for ``Pigs On The Wing'' shot in December 1976, which is known to be the shot of the album ``ANIMALS'' jacket cover. You can also enjoy the scene of the pig balloons being released at Battersea Power Station, which was still in operation at the time, in the best image quality available at the moment. What you will find here is the euphoric sound that spreads in all directions, and the eye candy that runs through the scene in vivid colors. I don't think there will ever be anything better than this Pink Floyd Memory that actually existed in Vienna, the capital of music, at dusk on February 1, 1977, and I've already spent the time and effort searching the used market for this sound source. There will be no more chance of it happening. Please try this most powerful 3CD + 1DVD in history, which summarizes the 1977 Vienna sound source, consisting of unprecedented sound quality and fresh images.
