From Floyd's only Australian tour in the 1970s, which took place immediately after the legendary "Hakone Aphrodite" first came to Japan in 1971, the first day in Melbourne, August 13th, included a high-quality audience recording of the Festival Hall performance. Direct recording of "Karmamania's 1st gen cass" version uploaded to the internet. Originally, the 1971 Melbourne sound source is known for its high sound quality, but this work can be said to be the best of the same performance with a clear and natural wide feeling that convinces you of the good quality of Gene. This is an excellent product that has been carefully corrected, not only with speed control, but also with optimization of left and right channel balance and volume, as well as careful reduction and correction of analog noise problems in various places. Atom Heart Mother, which plays with an exquisite balance of floating feeling and strength, is a masterpiece that reminds me of the Hakone performance held the week before. Green Is The Color is extremely valuable because it will be removed from the set at the end of this performance. Today's Careful With That Ax, Eugene, which is sometimes described as a ``simple performance'' among enthusiasts, can be said to be a performance that gives you a sense of restrained and cool strength. . In the climax of Echoes, which lasts 7 minutes and 30 seconds, Rick makes a mistake in the composition and plays a big miss tone on the organ. When he starts playing (maybe it's just the mix...) he surprises the listener. The backing behind Gilmore's seagull tone also uses the wind SE effect to liven up the sound. Unlike the sound sources that have been circulating so far, this edition is recorded in the order of Echoes → Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, but there are still various theories that the Hakone set is the same as this Melbourne one Atom Heart Mother/Green It might have been Is The Colour/Careful With That Ax, Eugene/Echoes/Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun/Cymbaline/A Saucerful Of Secrets. (Fat Old Sun does not seem to be playing on this day like Hakone.) A Saucerful Of Secrets suddenly cuts out at the 6th minute, just like the previous episodes. Since this is the part where the excitement is at its climax, it can't help but feel abrupt, but I'm grateful that they let you listen to the last minute without using a poor fade process. I am once again grateful to Taper for recording the tuning parts between songs quite long for a later recording of this era. This is an excellent version, so please enjoy it.
