A former NBA cheerleader, she choreographed the Jacksons' dances in the 1980s and even taught Janet Jackson's dances. Her 1988 debut album, "Forever Your Girl," garnered four number-one singles in the US: "Straight Up," "Cold Hearted," "Forever Your Girl," and "Opposites Attract." In 1991, she released her long-awaited follow-up album, "Spellbound," which garnered two number-one hits: the ballads "Rush, Rush" and "The Promise of a New Day." Prince even wrote "U" for her. This pro-shot video captures the Yokohama performance from Paula Abdul's 1992 Under My Spell Tour, her first world tour. Enjoy all of her number-one hits, as well as a live version of Prince's "U," complete with slick group dancing. "Vibeology," written by Prince-affiliated Sandra St. Victor, exudes Prince-funk and is one of her strongest live tracks. Her third album was not a hit, and she has not released any albums since. In some ways, this is Paula's peak performance, and it's easy to imagine that Janet, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé would have used it as a model. It's that perfect. Once you've seen this video, you'll want to watch it over and over again.
