Following the orchestral collaboration "HELIOCENTRIC," Paul Weller released an album of his own playing the guitar in 2001, exploring a variety of styles. This symbolic professional shot, a superb video that can be called the "video version of DAYS OF SPEED," has been decided to be released. This work was shot in Potsdam on November 13, 2001. It is a multi-camera professional shot of an appearance on the German free TV channel "Sat.1." Like "DAYS OF SPEED," this work is mainly about playing the guitar, but it is a completely different performance from the official live album. In order to understand the situation around that, let's first take a bird's-eye view of the activities at that time. 2000 {"HELIOCENTRIC" released on April 10th} ・April 14th - August 25th: Europe #1 (30 performances) ← *ROYAL ALBERT HALL ・September 9th - 17th: Japan #1 (6 performances) ・October 28th - November 4th: UK (5 performances) 2001 ・February 3rd - July 7th: Europe #2 (27 performances) ← *DAYS OF SPEED ・July 12th - 17th: Japan #2 (5 performances) ・July 20th - 26th: North America (5 performances) ・August 3rd - September 4th: Europe #3 (3 performances) {"DAYS OF SPEED" released on October 8th} ・October 31st - December 12th: Europe #4 (16 performances) ← ★Here★ This is Paul Weller in 2000/2001. While the official "DAYS OF SPEED" was compiled from the performances of "Europe #2" in early 2001, this work's Potsdam performance was the final "Europe #4". It was the eighth performance. The pattern was broadcast on TV and FM, and it is a classic that has produced many existing releases. This work is a masterpiece that was made into a DVD from the best master of the TV broadcast version. Its quality is superb. In any case, the master freshness is tremendous, there are no dubbing marks, no deterioration over time, and there is no white line noise or tape running twist. Although it was shot in analog due to the era, it is a beautiful "excavation official class" even when viewed by modern digital standards. Such visual beauty depicts a stage of singing and playing that is approaching "DAYS OF SPEED". However, the performance is different and the set is slightly different. Finally, let's organize it while comparing. Classics (4 songs) THE JAM: English Rose/That's Entertainment/Town Called Malice THE STYLE COUNCIL: Headstart For Happiness Solo (12 songs) Paul Weller: Above The Clouds/Clues/Amongst Butterflies Wild Wood: All The Pictures On The Wall (★)/Wild Wood Stanley Road: Out Of The Sinking/You Do Something To Me Others: Brand New Start/The Loved/Science/Everything Has A Price To Pay/There's No Drinking After You're Dead *Note: The "★" mark indicates a song that could not be heard on the official "DAYS OF SPEED". It's exactly "DAYS OF SPEED seen with your eyes". Although the performance is different, it is a video work that teaches you the scene that was spread "beyond" the masterpiece live album. It is a masterpiece pro shot that I would like to make it official as a deluxe edition of "DAYS OF SPEED". The best video, which can be called "the video version of DAYS OF SPEED", has been released. It is a multi-camera pro shot of the singing tour, and the master level is official grade with no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. You can also enjoy "All The Pictures On The Wall", which is not available officially. Nikolaisaal, Potsdam, Germany 13th November 2001 PRO-SHOT (63;39) 1. Intro 2. Out Of The Sinking 3.
