Shocking world first appearance sound source! Complete recording of the last day of Wembley's 4 consecutive performances on December 10, 1979 with ultra-high quality audience recording. (There are some cuts to some songs, but it is almost completely recorded.) There are very few sound sources from this tour, so this is a great release! “Getting Closer” “Coming Up” is very moving! A definitive edition that captures the final day of Wembley! They kindly kept the tape and gave it to me. This is an explanation from the person who recorded this tape. Eye-witness account and photos by Mike B From 1979 to 1980, Beatles fans were very excited. Wings just released their new album, Back to the Egg, and we had the great news that John Lennon is working on his first solo album in five years. Shortly after the release of Back to the Egg in June 1979, Wings embarked on their first tour since the epic 66-date Wings Over the World of 1975-76. Announced. That tour featured Beatles songs for the first time since the band broke up, and included acoustic numbers such as Yesterday, Blackbird, and Dreamer. Back to the Egg sees McCartney looking younger and more energetic than he has been in years, with a short hairstyle and cropped leather jacket, influenced by punk and new wave. Opening the setlist was a saxophone storming rockin’ version of “Got To Get You Into My Life” featuring his old Liverpool and Hamburg mate Howie Casey. It sings powerfully with a great voice like the best Little Richard, and you could tell he was really in pretty good shape. Next was the rock tune “Getting Closer” from BACK TO THE EGG. A great song with the mid section of Mrs. Vandebilt's Echo and the Four Tops' Reach Out (I'll Be There) single. Well, it was a great opener for the show, but McCartney, ever the perfectionist that he is as a showman, slowed down the tempo and performed a great version of "Every Night" from his first solo album, followed by "AGAIN AND AGAIN" from his latest album. AND AGAIN” was performed. Next up are the 1978 singles "I've Had Enough" and "No Words," followed by the excruciating "Cook of the House," which spotlights Linda (lol) and her current single "OLD SIAM, SIR," followed by the emotional "MAYBE." I'M AMAZED” Surprise “FOOL ON THE HILL” and “LET IT BE” Today's show includes a rare “HOT AS SUN” followed by the rock number “SPIN IT ON” and Eddie Cochran’s “TWENTY FLIGHT ROCK” “was played. Denny Lane brings back his Wings Over the World solo spot with “GO NOW.” Well, the live was coming to the end, with a party atmosphere of "WONDERFUL CHIRISTMASTIME" It was December after all - the funky "COMING UP", the dancey "GOODNIGHT TONIGHT", the obligatory "YESTERDAY", and the final song. “MULL OF KINTYRE” was played before “BAND ON THE RUN”. After this, there were a few more Wings shows, and a few weeks later I attended a charity Rock for Cambodia concert. And there was no live show from Paul for the next 10 years. His planned 1980 tour of Japan was canceled midway through and was thrown into disarray. To make matters worse, one year later, John Lennon was murdered, and the world was filled with sadness.
