It's here! Finally, the best audience CD from Paul's latest tour has been released! Until now, the fastest release of very high quality audience recordings has continued, but this time it was enough to meet the eye of the audience, with a powerful sound pressure and sound image. The compatibility between the taper position that carried out the recording and the sound output of the venue was good from the beginning of the live. That alone is the best quality. "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five", which is a subdued ensemble, finally has a dense sound image like a sound board. Among the wonderful recording conditions, it is noteworthy that the bass line played by Paul is captured with clear and full sound quality. If it is a record of the stage in 2022, it is natural that the audience recording with a high average score will be rumbling. In such a situation, there are not many sound sources that capture the sound of the bass played by him so well. Listening to the bouncy bass lines in songs like "Can't Buy Me Love," "Got to Get You into My Life," or the encore "Birthday," you'll be impressed that this guy is really committed to being active for the rest of his life. However, the amusing scene of Paul starting to sing a little early in "Getting Better" is a bit of a charm. "Women and Wives" from the latest album "McCARTNEY III" was added to the repertoire at the beginning of the tour, but it was originally a song that was hard to say would look good in a live performance, and the reaction of the American audience, who were already cold to new songs (bitter smile), was demoted to the sound check repertoire. However, "Jet" will make its debut as part of this year's repertoire from the second day's performance at Fenway Park in Boston on June 8th, when it will be released this time. Moreover, it is fresh and effective to play it in the middle of the live performance, after "Fuh You," rather than at the beginning of the live performance as in the past. In the beginning, Paul had to sing before his throat was at full throttle, so on some days it looked like it was difficult for him to sing. But this time, he was able to sing well because it was performed in the middle of the set. But that's not all, thanks to the horn section that has been accompanying them on tours since 2018, it's a live version that reminds you of Wings in 1976, so don't miss it. It's a truly magnificent stage performance, and I can't help but hope that they will continue to play it in the future. It's also nice to see that Paul is in top form throughout the whole live performance, and the rare scene in recent years where he talks to Abe, the drummer, after finishing "Dance Tonight" is also heartwarming. What's most surprising is "Maybe I'm Amazed". For Paul, this repertoire has been the "gateway to the first half of the live performance" for many years, but more than a month has passed since the start of the tour, and I can't help but be surprised at how aggressively he sings, that is, how his voice is coming out, which I haven't seen recently. As of the time of writing this, Paul has finally turned 80 years old, and of course there are some difficult moments in some songs. Even so, he is in overwhelmingly good condition overall, which is clear if you compare it with the recordings from the beginning of the tour released by the UXBRIDGE label. This is particularly noticeable in "Maybe I'm...", and in Paul's case, the schedule of two consecutive performances seems to have worked to his advantage. And you can see that he has become completely accustomed to the virtual duet performance of "I've Got a Feeling", which is the topic of discussion for this tour. The sound is so good that I am constantly moved by Paul's attitude towards live performances, who never forgets his aggressive attitude even at the age of 80 (he was still 79 at this point). At the time of release, due to a mistake at the time of publication, the order of the songs before and after "You Never Give Me Your Money" was different from the actual order, but of course that was adjusted. More than a month has passed since the start of the tour, which has already gained a reputation among fans around the world, and an audience album that captures the full engine with amazing sound quality has finally been released.
