The Japanese laser disc edition of the documentary film "GET BACK" has been decided to be released. It is a familiar film that was released on DVD in 2002 and on Blu-ray in 2012. You may wonder, "Why now?", but the VHS/laser discs of that time contained footage that was completely missing from these official digitalizations. The footage was a 15-minute interview that was included as a bonus. This work has reproduced the entire Japanese laser disc, including that valuable interview, in the highest quality ever. The source of this work is the Japanese laser disc, which was touted as the world's highest quality at the time. It was carefully selected from mint quality discs that had been treasured by core enthusiasts, and meticulously digitized by an overseas analog specialist manufacturer. The beauty of the image maximizes the amount of information contained in the laser disc. As expected, the clarity of the image does not match that of the official BD, but the warm analog texture vividly brings back memories of that time. It is the very image that I saw for the first time. However, even so, we will not reprint it with just the sweeter footage than the official version. The biggest highlight is the bonus interview scene. Not only Paul himself, but also director Richard Lester, the band members at the time, and Linda appear and talk about the thoughts they put into the work. The director reveals the message and intentions he put into the film, Paul talks about his feelings for the warm fans, and the band members express their respect for Paul. There are episodes such as going to a hospital and a bodybuilding gym to film a fan nurse the day after the show, and the meaning of mixing in war films. Paul says, "The Gulf War broke out on our precious Earth during this time," but comments that were only made at that time come out one after another. The story also extends to the Beatles era. Memories of the film he made with director Lester, whom he worked with for the first time in 25 years, stadium concerts, and his thoughts on guitars and music itself. Many of the episodes are familiar to fans, but Paul's voice and mischievous expression as he talks about the 1960s are enough to tickle your heart. For those who watched it on VHS or laser disc at the time, it will bring back memories of being glued to the TV. After this interview, there is a final fun video. The making-of scene of the promotional spot is also fun. "It's Paul. Please enjoy our latest work "Get Back"!" and the whole band repeat several versions of "It's a movie! It's a concert! It's the best! Check it out!", but it's hard to decide. They burst out laughing, stutter, "Don't giggle," "Come on, everyone, "Get Back," "My line? Yes, it's too late," "Okay, this time." ... It's a collection of NGs that makes you smile at Paul, who was talking so much just a moment ago, but is struggling with simple lines. Since the movie itself has already been officially reprinted, this 15-minute bonus video will never be revived again. Not only is it a nostalgic visual beauty of the analog era, but the interview is also moving and the NG scenes are also fun. This is a must-see for anyone who was excited by the film back then.
