This complete recording captures the July 12th performance in Perugia, Italy, from the 2012 European tour accompanying Pat Metheny's Unity Band album release. The high-quality audience master was digitally remastered in 2026, capturing the entire evening in exceptional quality. The remastering process corrected some of the mid-range reverberation in the original audience source, and added balance and noise reduction to perfectly recreate the evening. The perfectionist Pat Metheny formed a trio of musicians—Chris Potter (ts), Ben Williams (b), and Antonio Sanchez (ds)—who were hailed as the greatest contemporary jazz band of their time. Chris Potter's saxophone features as much as Metheny's guitar throughout the recording, bringing back the exhilarating energy of his time with Michael Brecker. The band plays almost all songs from the same album, and the way the saxophone intertwines with the crystal clear guitar on top of the stable bass and drums, and the eight-beat sprints that run through the entire album is so pleasant that it is a must-listen not only for fans of the old days, but also for rock fans.
