This is a live recording of Pat Metheny's unit, Unity Band. This band was the core of the group that later expanded into Unity Group. This band is very popular with virtuoso Chris Potter on the lead. There are other recordings of this band, but this time it is from the Detroit Jazz Festival. The appeal is that it is compact and easy to listen to, like a festival set. The sound quality is an audience recording, and as the sound quality label on the back cover says "VERY-GOOD," it is honestly not high quality. The stage seems to be a little far away, and the performance is quieter than the cheers of the audience. Therefore, the sound pressure of the performance cannot be increased, and the audience noise is a concern. The photo on the front cover is the venue, but since it is an outdoor festival, the microphone is not very stable. I cut and edited the intervals between songs and the speeches, but I couldn't cut the performance, and the remastering was not satisfactory. It's not that bad compared to the audience recordings from long ago, but beginners should look for another performance. This is literally a collector's item for enthusiasts who are not satisfied with other recordings.
