Pat Metheny Trio and Quartet/Canada 2005

The first step of this trio (plus a quartet with some David participation) was made in 2005, three years before the Metheny, McBride, and Sanchez trio recorded their masterpiece "Day Trip" in 2008. A famous performance appears! ! ! ``The Way Up'' is a masterpiece representing the Pat Metheny Group, released in 2005, the first song released by Nonesuch Records, which won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album the following year. In 2005, Metheny (group) began a tour in conjunction with the release of ``The Way Up'' in Pennsylvania on February 12th, and it lasted for 100 performances until July. Also in July, at the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, he performed as a trio with Kenny Warner and Sanchez, and as a duo with Toots Thielemans, Michael Caine, and Charlie Haden. Metheny's previous performances include a reenactment of "Beyond the Missouri Sky," Gary Burton, Steve Swallow, 80/81 Revisited with Dewey Redman, and finally PMG, on various stages that have Metheny fans drooling. After performing at Roy Haynes' 80th birthday concert, which became a hot topic all over the world and featured Chick Corea, Burton, Redman, and McBride in August, McBride performed a special live that summarized history. The trio and quartet, which will include David Sanchez and David Sanchez in the second half, will be touring the US from September 7th to November 13th for another 50 performances.
