This is the earliest live recording of the Pat Metheny Group. Pat Metheny's debut album as "The Group" was released in 1978. This title is from 1977, a year before. Although it is a debut album, it is the same members as the album under Metheny's name that came out in 1976. Disc 2's "SONG FOR BILBAO" is a valuable performance that is "probably an early version" in a different key from the current one. Since it is an audience recording, the intervals between songs have been cut and edited, but the sound quality is at a level that makes you think it is a sound board if the applause is not close. However, there are some difficulties such as the level being a little over in parts, but if you are a Metheny fan, you can enjoy it without any problems. The first track, "PHASE DANCE," had some noticeable tape warping in places, but this was significantly corrected and improved during remastering.
