Ozzy Osbourne returned to Japan in 1998 after a spot reunion with his friend Zakk Wylde. This legendary full soundboard has been updated. It's set to be released as a 2-CD set, also known as "LOVE & LOUD Part 2"! This work features the "March 5, 1998: Nippon Budokan" performance, a stereo soundboard recording. At the time, Joe Holmes was Ozzy's regular guitarist. It was assumed Joe would also be there for the Japan tour, but Zakk's sudden return sparked excitement. Meanwhile, Zakk's return was only temporary. To understand the situation, let's first take a look at the band's activities at the time. 1998 {January: Wilde/Inez/Castillo System} * February 12-20: Oceania (5 shows) * February 24-March 5: Japan (6 shows) ← ★ Here ★ {March: Holmes/Trujillo/Bourdain System} ・ May 23: Appearance at 93X Fest ・ May 29-June 1: Europe (3 shows) + June 3-14: Europe (7 Sabbath shows) ・ June 20: Milton Keynes performance + June 20-30: Europe (6 Sabbath shows) ・ July 3-August 2: North America (18 shows) + December 31: Phoenix (Sabbath performance) * Note: "*" indicates Zakk Wylde's system, "・" indicates Joe Holmes' system, "+" indicates Sabbath performance. The highest peak update of the ultra-realistic leaked soundboard This is Ozzy Osbourne in 1998. At the time, he managed the remarkable feat of juggling both his solo career and the reunited Sabbath. After releasing a greatest hits album in late 1997, Ozzy Osbourne embarked on the "THE OZZMAN COMETH Tour" in early 1998. Zack returned for the first 11 shows, "Oceania + Japan." This time, not only Zack but also the rhythm section (Mike Inez/Randy Castillo) joined. This also marked the return of the "LIVE & LOUD" lineup. The Nippon Budokan performance on this album was the final day of this fleeting reunion tour. This release, capturing this extremely rare highlight performance, features an extremely thick and authentic soundboard leaked by a source. While the source of the leak remains unknown, the sound itself loudly proclaims, "Recorded directly from the mix desk!" The cheers seem like distant ripples, while the live performance and fame are etched into your mind. Naturally, the sound is unprocessed and unedited, with no effects applied, resulting in a completely raw sound. This release is a top-of-the-line update of this legendary soundboard. While the original soundboard was of such high quality that it made you wonder, "What could possibly be better?", it has been meticulously reworked for re-CD release. Rigorous pitch correction and balance adjustments further enhance the contours and beautifully extend the high notes. This release further enhances the soundboard feel of the original sound, resulting in a supremely clear sound. This full reunion show, a sequel to LIVE & LOUD, depicts the extremely rare "OZZMOSIS Tour with Zack." As mentioned above, this is the "THE OZZMAN COMETH Tour" accompanying the best-of album, but the set itself follows the "RETIREMENT SUCKS Tour" that followed the release of "OZZMOSIS." While the members are the same as on the official "LIVE & LOUD" album, there are some repertoires not available there, so it's worth comparing and organizing them. Solo (5 songs + 5 songs + 3 songs) Blizzard of Oz: Goodbye To Romance / Suicide Solution / Mr. Crowley / Crazy Train / I Don't Know No More Tears: Desire / I Don't Want To Change The World / No More Tears / Road To Nowhere / Mama, I'm Coming Home Others: Bark At The Moon / Flying High Again / I Just Want You (★) Sabbath (2 songs + medley) War Pigs / Paranoid (featuring Max Cavalera) Medley (★: Iron Man / Sweet Leaf / Into The Void / Children Of The Grave) *Note: ★ indicates songs not heard on the official "LIVE & LOUD" album. ...And so on. The album follows the basic formula established during the "LIVE A&LOUD" era: "BLIZZARD OF OZZ + NO MORE TEARS + others," and the selections from each album are similar. The biggest difference is that the "THE ULTIMATE SIN" and "NO REST FOR THE WICKED" eras have been omitted, replaced with "I Just Want You" from "OZZMOSIS" and a rapid-fire medley of Sabbath classics. These two tracks are extremely rare and powerful. While "I Just Want You" was performed several times during the Gas G era, it's primarily a song from the Joe Holmes era. There are only a handful of live performances where Zack played the original, and this album is the only one where you can hear it on a premium soundboard. And then there's the nearly 14-minute Sabbath medley. It's just so cool! Zack never tries to copy the original; he plays it in his own style, yet somehow it feels natural. Without fear of misunderstanding, Iommi himself felt like he'd been pumped up into Captain America with a superhuman serum... or should I say so myself? While he's demonstrated his successor skills in recent years with ZAKK SABBATH, this album is enhanced with the energy of a 31-year-old at the time. His powerful guitar work is on a different level to that of average stoner bands that don't go beyond mere imitation, and it really sinks into your brain. Furthermore, Ozzy Osbourne is in top form on this album. He was said to have been suffering from a cold during his previous album (with Joe Holmes in 1996), but he was in excellent form on this day. There are some raspy vocals early on, and there are some songs where he can't quite hit the high notes and almost falls over. However, that's within the norm for Ozzy Osbourne in the '90s, and he plays with a good mood and energy, pushing through with aplomb. From the point where he sounds more energetic afterwards, it seems like he's actually getting a little too carried away. Bonus recordings include a sound check from the day and a DOWN TO EARTH demo. While the full show alone is enough to fill your heart, this album also includes two bonus soundboards. One is a sound check from the day that was leaked along with the main album. Ozzy is absent, but Zach is there to sing. He plays Jimi Hendrix classics with none other than Zach's signature sound. The other is a demo from "DOWN TO EARTH," which marked Zach's comeback. The three tracks included are "Facing Hell (3 takes)," "Gets Me Through (1 take)," and "Black Skies (3 takes)." "Bang Bang 'You're Dead'" is a version of "Facing Hell" with alternate lyrics. While the backing track for "Facing Hell" feels very demo-like, the rest are highly polished and musically enjoyable. It's better described as an "alternate version" than a demo. The single's B-side, "Black Skies," is particularly interesting. This unusual track featured Neal Schon on rhythm guitar and TIN MACHINE's Reeves Gabrels on lead guitar. Early in the development of "DOWN TO EARTH," the idea of featuring Gabrels instead of Zakk was considered, and this track was created at that time. It was originally intended for a video game, but was shelved due to its evocation of the September 11 attacks. It saw the light of day as a single B-side (this album also features a version with Neal Schon playing lead). Zakk Wylde, his eternal companion, continued to appear and disappear many times, each time always being described as "the one who's needed for Ozzy Osbourne." This one-of-a-kind soundboard album fully captures the "Spot reunion," featuring Zakk, Mike Inez, and the late Randy Castillo. This album is an incredibly powerful live album in itself, and can also be enjoyed as a "sequel to LIVE & LOUD" and "Zakk's version of the OZZMOSIS tour." This is the only remaining soundboard from the "hidden Zack era," linking "Until No More Tears" and "After Down to Earth." This is a stereo soundboard recording of the March 5, 1998, Nippon Budokan performance, where the "Live & Loud" members reunited. This is the highest-quality updated album, meticulously polished using a soundboard directly connected to the mix desk, leaked by those involved. Zack plays a delicious full show, including the rare "I Just Want You" and a Sabbath medley. Also included are rare soundchecks from the day and a "Down to Earth" demo. This is the birth of an absolute album, where you can enjoy even "Black Skies," with Neal Schon playing lead. Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 5th March 1998 STEREO SBD(from Original Masters)UPGRADE!!!
