The precious footage from the Randy Rhoads era, which was very well received last year, has been upgraded! A much longer version has been decided to be released!! This work contains two performances at the same venue on one day. It is an audience shot from the "May 2, 1981 Palladium Theater" performance. For those who experienced the previous version, "PALLADIUM 1981 THE VIDEO," released last year, this will be repeated, but let's start from the beginning again. First of all, let's take a look at the show position. Let's take a bird's-eye view of the overall picture of the Randy era, when members were changing rapidly. 1980: B. Daisley, L. Carslake, L. Bridgewater; September 3rd - November 8th: UK (37 shows); 1981: R. Sarzo, T. Aldridge, L. Bridgewater; April 22nd - September 13th: North America #1 (93 shows + UK 1); November 1st - December 2nd: Europe (11 shows); R. Sarzo, T. Aldridge, D. Airey; December 30th + 31st: North America #2a (2 shows); 1982: January 1st - March 18th: North America #2b (45 shows); Randy Rhoads died on March 19th. This was the journey leading up to Randy's death. The Palladium performance in this work was the same "Rudy Sarzo / Tommy Aldridge / Lindsay Bridgewater" lineup as "TRIBUTE" and the famous pro shot "AFTER HOURS." It was particularly close to "AFTER HOURS," four days after the famous pro shot. It was the 10th and 11th performances of "North America #1," the longest leg of the tour. Let's take a look at the footage from each of the two shows separately. First half: A front-row shot (approximately 34 minutes) of the extended early show. First up is the early show footage. This is an audience shot, which was also made official in the 30th anniversary box set of "BLIZZARD OF OZZ / DIARY OF A MADMAN." This is the most upgraded section, with "Revelation (Mother Earth)," which lasted only a moment (approximately 4 seconds) on the previous release, now recording a total of approximately 4 minutes and 40 seconds. This lengthening is crucial. After all, the live footage of "AFTER HOURS," excluding interviews, was 22 minutes long, and the audience shot from the Chicago performance, "ROSEMONT 1982," was approximately 24 minutes long. In contrast, this version stretches to a whopping 34 minutes. While it's certainly not a full show, being able to watch "Randy Rhoads in action" for such a long period of time makes this a truly rare treasure. And the spectacle is even more intense. It's a front-row shot. The stage unfolds before your eyes, with no obstructions, and at full zoom, Ozzy's bust fills the screen. And since this is a live concert, unlike "After Hours," both Ozzy and Randy are wild. Ozzy is even aware of the camera's presence, even making a scene right in front of them. Apparently, a film school student ran up to the front row with a Super 8mm camera to film this, but the footage is so stunning it feels like a staff archive. Second Half: Classic Late Show Footage with Replaced Audio (approx. 20 minutes). The second half of this release features audience shots from a late show on the same day and at the same venue. This footage is a long-standing staple, familiar from "LIVE FOOTAGE 1979-1981" and other releases, but this is its pinnacle update. As with the previous release, this one utilizes the best master recordings and replaces them with the superb audio from the classic "PALLADIUM 1981 2ND SHOW." The difference is clear. While the previous recordings were clear but lacked freshness and were distorted, this one is crystal clear. As mentioned in the commentary on the new album, it feels completely different when viewed with the "soundboard-like" audio. The live footage, as always, covers the first three songs of the show, but the pre-show "Carmina Burana" and the prematurely ended "Believer" have been supplemented with still images patched into the superb sound. This extends to approximately 20 minutes. This totals 54 minutes of treasured footage. Even the approximately 22-minute "AFTER HOURS" and the approximately 24-minute "ROSEMONT 1982" combined cannot compare to this work. This is the best existing master recording, a masterpiece of ultra-realistic video that lets you meet the genius guitarist Randy Rhoads. Audience shot of the "May 2, 1981 Palladium Performance." The first half is a front-row shot of the early show, a new master of about 34 minutes that is longer than the previous edition "Shades 2068." The second half is a standard late show video of about 20 minutes, with the audio replaced with a superb soundboard-class recording, making it the highest quality version. It is a cultural heritage that allows you to experience the extremely valuable Randy Rhoads era on-site for a total of about 54 minutes.
