The legendary group known as the "Original Blizzard," known for the masterpieces "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman," has emerged as a leading contender for their greatest work. This album captures the exceptional Original Blizzard, even during the special Randy era, with a beautiful audience recording from the November 8, 1980 Nottingham concert. While we've jumped straight into the "Original Blizzard" category, this refers to the original lineup of the independent Ozzy Osbourne band: Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisley, and Lee Kerslake. While these four members left behind two legendary studio albums, they also briefly performed live. As a retailer specializing in Ozzy Osbourne's entire career, we've archived as many masterpieces as possible from his exceptional "Original Blizzard" era. To organize this collection, let's start with an overview of their activities at the time. 1980 (April 19th: "BLIZZARD OF OZZ" completed) September 3rd-18th (7 performances) * September 20th: "DEFINITIVE HAMMERSMITH 1980" September 21st-October 1st (7 performances) October 2nd: Southampton performance ← *Official SBD * October 3rd: "STOKE 1980" October 5th-9th (4 performances) * October 10th: "TAUNTON 1980" October 11th-16th (3 performances) * October 17th: "MAYFAIR BALLROOM 1980" October 18th + 20th (2 performances) * October 22nd: "CHELMSFORD 1980" October 23rd-November 1st (7 performances) * November 8th: Nottingham performance ← ★This work★ 1981 (February-March: Production of "DIARY OF A MADMAN") (March: Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake leave) This treasure trove of the original BLIZZARD's final performance. Between the production of two albums, they embarked on a debut tour exclusively in their home country. Their Southampton performance was featured on the live EPs "MR. CROWLEY" and "TRIBUTE," but only for a few tracks. For full shows, we still have to rely on audience recordings. Meanwhile, this Nottingham performance marked the final day of the tour. The following year, 1981, a lineup change occurred immediately after the production of "DIARY OF A MADMAN," making this the final performance of the "original BLIZZARD." This show also remains shrouded in mystery. Information from the time is still vague, with some sources suggesting the Nottingham performance was canceled. Since the recordings remain, it's reasonable to assume they actually existed, but the possibility that they actually occurred on a different day isn't zero. While this reborn sound is hailed as a masterpiece, the final day has long been known as a renowned recording, and this new master redefines that peak. It's also a masterpiece that claims to be a leading contender for the "original BLIZZARD" masterpiece. Its true identity is a remastering of the master released following Ozzy Osbourne's death, refining it with our own mastering. To be honest, the original sound that appeared online was only "slightly better" than the previous master, but its unique character was a perfect match for the mastering. As our customers know, digital mastering is not a magical technology, and not every recording will improve. Depending on the characteristics of a recording, some things just won't improve no matter how hard you try, and conversely, a slight change in balance can make a world of difference. This recording was the latter. It highlighted some of the more murky details and improved clarity, and it was spot on. The guitar's contours become much clearer, and the balance with the vocals, which were already easy to listen to, is exquisite. Moreover, as the show progresses, that sense of balance improves, resulting in a superb sound that combines natural beauty with powerful ease of listening. This sound is the most likely reason for its claim to be the "original BLIZZARD masterpiece." While the crisp, direct feel of the previous champion, "CHELMSFORD 1980," is hard to dismiss, that sound tended to be a bit harsh and not for everyone. In contrast, this album offers a well-balanced, natural sound. Depending on your preferences, it's difficult to decide which is the best, and in the end, I'd call it the "pinnacle of two great albums"... a masterpiece of that magnitude. This is the original BLIZZARD's final masterpiece, and the performance itself is worthy of being called a masterpiece. The new band was in a period of improving as they gained experience, with Randy delivering thunderous riffs on "Crazy Train" and "Goodbye To Romance," and Ozzy's powerful highs clearly transcending. And the key to the "original Blizzard" was the rhythm section of Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake. This final album not only displays the veteran's stability but also the band's sense of unity, with the up-and-coming Randy thriving freely over a rock-solid beat. The magic of the "original Blizzard" is fully immersed. The Nottingham recording, which previously lacked a (slight) chip at the end of the key track "You Looking At Me," was never considered a contender for a masterpiece. The new master retains the chip, but the sound quality and performance are so excellent that it's a prime candidate for a masterpiece. This is truly a cultural heritage worthy of perpetual preservation. This is a beautiful audience recording of the "Nottingham concert on November 8, 1980." This is the final day of the "Original Blizzard" with Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, and it's a top-notch updated album with a new master and unique mastering. The sound is clearer than ever before, making it one of the two greatest peaks in the "Original Blizzard" series, alongside "Chelmsford 1980." This is a new masterpiece of cultural heritage worthy of permanent preservation. Boat Club, Nottingham, England 8th November 1980 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND UPGRADE!!! (60:49) 01. Carmina Burana 02.
