Another item from the U.S. tour conducted by OZZY OSBOURNE during the Randy Rhoads era is now available! From the American tour accompanying the release of "BLIZZARD OF OZZ", there was a performance in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on April 23, 1981, and a performance in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 7, 1982 after the release of "DIARY OF A MADMAN". Both are packaged using high-quality audience masters, making this a coveted two-disc set. The Harrisburg performance recorded on Disc 1 is the second show of the American tour that started on April 22nd, and this is the first time it has been made into a disc. Like “BLIZZARD OVER U.S.A.” which recorded the Tucson performance on the first day, it can be said that it is a sound source that can not be missed by not only Ozzy fans but also Randy Rhoads mania as a sound source that records the early stage of the tour. The Forum Theater in Harrisburg, where this live performance was held, is a theater-style venue, as its name suggests, and features a stage environment that takes into account acoustics. Rudy Sarzo's reminiscences mention this point, saying, ``Both the audience and the performers were able to experience a warm and rich sound.'' The original sound source has also been remastered to take advantage of that sound, creating a sound that not only has a solid clarity that allows you to see through the venue, but also has an edge to the members' performances and a good level of ease of listening. The tape speed, which was too fast that I noticed in the master, has of course been accurately adjusted, and you can listen to the valuable live performance in a neat manner. As it was the second day of the show, the band's performance was more calm and cohesive than the previous day's Tucson performance, and in "Believer", the rhythm section of new members Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge also played stably. . Although the following "Mr. Crowley" shows fluctuations in the sound due to the master, the take of the original sound source that reflects the good venue acoustics gives the impression that the dramatic song is scaled up. Together with "Revelation (Mother Earth)" and "Steal Away (The Night)" where Randy's play depicts a clear beginning, development, development, and conclusion, these numbers with a classical approach are the great listening points of this sound source. The last three consecutive BLACK SABBATH numbers, including “Iron Man”, “Children Of The Grave”, and the encore “Paranoid”, have Ozzy's vocals in high tension, making it an outstanding listening experience. Throughout the live performance, each member gave an energetic performance that said, ``I can't lose to Randy's guitar,'' and it was a highlight. For about an hour, you can fully enjoy the band's highly motivated performance, which was unique to the early days of the tour. The Albuquerque, New Mexico "Tingley Coliseum" performance recorded on Disc 2 is a live performance that previously appeared under the title "NEW MEXICAN REVELATION", but in this work it is based on a newly discovered higher master. , will be officially released as an "upper version" with full treatment. The previous release, ``NEW MEXICAN REVELATION,'' also had content comparable to the press CD title ``TEXAS MADMAN'' from the same period, and was highly praised by fans. However, this master tape has a sound that convinces everyone who listens to the superiority of the generation, and its condition is clearly better than that of "NEW MEXICAN REVELATION." The tape was in such good condition that there was no need for pitch adjustment even in the remastering, and the sound localization was firmly focused in the center, and the natural sound pressure that gave the performance a sense of scale was also present in this work. It brings ease of listening and power that exceeds that of the original. On this day, Ozzy's vocals are in good condition compared to the live performances at the same time, and he is showing off a stable performance. Randy's guitar plays classically on "Mr. Crowley," unrestrained on "Crazy Train," and heavy on "Suicide Solution," giving a fulfilling performance with a variety of expressions. Don Airey, who joined from the November live, greatly inputs the play on each song and shows off Randy's classical phrases even more dramatically. The drama that can be heard in the medley of “Revelation (Mother Earth)” and “Steal Away (The Night)” shows how amazing OZZY OSBOURNE was at this time. From the opening “Over The Mountain” to the show ending “Paranoid”, the listener will be left in agony for about 75 minutes! With the re-release of two of their early studio albums, OZZY OSBOURNE's Randy Rhoads era is once again gaining attention. Not only for those who have listened to the previously mentioned "BLIZZARD OVER U.S.A." and "TEXAS MADMAN," but also for those who have become interested in audience recordings from the Randy era after the recently released and highly acclaimed "HOWLING BLIZZARD." I confidently recommend this work. Please take this opportunity to enjoy this two-disc set of high-quality recordings that will give you a deeper taste of the combination of Ozzy and Randy!
