From OZZY OSBOURNE's 1986 "THE ULTIMATE SIN" US tour, the performance at the "UIC Pavilion" in Chicago, Illinois on April 5th, the beginning of the tour, is now available in a high-quality audience source using the original cassette master, which is the first to be released! You can enjoy the glamorous Ozzy live performance at the time, when he led Jake E. Lee and Randy Castillo and reigned at the top of the American metal scene, with excellent sound full of realism. In the production of his second album "THE ULTIMATE SIN" with Jake E. Lee, Ozzy tried and tested between the "heavyness" and "dramatic sound" he had been producing since his solo debut, and the "sound that sells" in the midst of the L.A. metal movement. The album that was completed after overcoming such twists and turns was a hit that took full advantage of the heavy metal boom at the time, and Ozzy's popularity and name value expanded even more. The "ULTIMATE SIN" world tour started with a UK tour with RATT as the opening act. It had been a long time since the last tour, and it was a live performance in Ozzy's home country of the UK, so the band gave a great performance from the beginning of the tour. After the UK tour, the band started a US tour with METALLICA as support. Even though METALLICA was able to play at their best, Ozzy still fascinated the fans with his dignified performance and show-up stage. The US tour continued for about half a year until September, including a performance in Japan from the end of May to early June and an appearance at "Monsters of Rock" in August. The most famous live performance during that long US tour is the Kansas City performance on April 1st. With the existence of radio broadcast recordings and official videos, it has become an indispensable standard for knowing the live performance at that time. This work, which has been released this time, was held at the "UIC Pavilion" in Chicago, Illinois, four days after the Kansas City performance. This recording was made by a famous taper that has left many excellent live recordings in the Chicago area, such as MOTLEY CRUE's "THEATRE OF ROSEMONT" and METALLICA's "THE ECSTASY OF ARAGON". This work also has a high-quality and excellent sound that is not inferior to the masterpiece recordings mentioned above, so you can enjoy Ozzy's live performance at that time with a lot of realism! From the opening "CARL ORFF "CARMINA BURANA"" and "Bark At The Moon", this work also captures the rising mood and uplifting heat of the venue with excellent brightness and natural sound spread. Although the low range is slightly distorted in some scenes, the high notes are vivid. Not only Ozzy's vocals but also Jake's flashy guitar are recorded with a sound with a strong presence. "Never Know Why" and "Shot In The Dark" selected from "THE ULTIMATE SIN" are excellent with a good tune and catchy melody. Jake also dances like a fish in water, and plays great at every turn. It is said that the performance has become more colorful and technical, but the band sound has become lighter, but Ozzy's heavy sound is still alive and well. You can understand this by listening to "Suicide Solution" and "Mr. Crowley" from the Randy Rhoads era. "I Don't Know," where the audience sings along in chorus, is a big highlight of the live show. "Killer Of Giants," with Jake's ethnic tone and lyricism, is also a point not to be missed. After Jake's free solo, the second half of the live show is a raging development. "Thank God For The Bomb" and "Secret Loser," which draw the listener in with their cutting sharpness, and "The Ultimate Sin," are songs that are unique to this time (Randy Castillo's drum solo included in "Secret Loser" is also very impressive)! The climax of the live was Sabbath's "Iron Man" and their signature song "Crazy Train" that knocked out the listeners! After the main part of the live ended with "Crazy Train", the audience naturally asked for an encore. However, it seems that Jake was in poor health that day, so Ozzy directly informed the audience of this fact and the live ended without "Paranoid" being played. The recording ends after picking up everything in a real document, such as Ozzy's MC explaining the situation and the disappointed audience. Since there was no encore that day, the 77-minute recording is all there is to the live. However, the performance itself was fulfilling. The excitement of the venue and the fans is captured with a raw enthusiasm that cannot be experienced at official live shows or radio broadcasts. The taper of this recording packages the live in the mid-'80s with many sound sources, along with the "atmosphere of the era". This work is one of those real documents. Please enjoy the excitement of the live venue at that time along with the performance! Live at UIC Pavillion, Chicago, IL.
