Ozzy's 1986 album "The Ultimate Sin" is spoken of in a somewhat negative light today as "a work that Ozzy disliked". However, the album's content, which took the L.A. metal style that was popular at the time to the highest level, brought Ozzy more success than the Randy Rhoads era. Furthermore, the fact that Jake E. Lee fully unleashed his talent made both the album and the live performance special. The most famous of the '86 live performances are the "Monsters of Rock" on August 16th in the UK and the performance at the "Kemper Arena" in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1st in the US. The latter in particular has been released as an official video work, and is a familiar live performance to enthusiasts. However, this official video did not feature only the performance and show, and the highlights of the set list, "Shot in the Dark" and "The Ultimate Sin", were replaced with video clips, so it was a work that received both positive and negative reviews. For that reason, enthusiasts have even said that "if you want to enjoy this live performance, the radio sound source is better." In this work, the radio broadcast source is recorded for over 70 minutes from the broadcast master of the music program "King Biscuit Flower Hour." This sound source was previously released as disc 2 of "AGE OF SIN" by the Shades label. However, this time, it appears as the latest remastered version that further polishes the original sound source. The sound is clearer and more vivid than the previous release, yet calm, and of exquisite quality. You can enjoy a special live performance with high perfection! From the opening "Carmina Burana" featuring the band introduction, a wonderful sound that exceeds the official one explodes! The sound board sound source of the '86 live performance was also enjoyed with a wonderful sound in August's "Monsters of Rock" mentioned above, but this one can be said to be clearly superior in terms of sound punch and realism. In addition, the opening "Bark At The Moon" and "Suicide Solution" that were missing from the live performance can be enjoyed perfectly in this work. In particular, everyone will be overwhelmed by Jake's flashy and glittering guitar playing in "Bark At The Moon"! Another attraction of this work is that you can enjoy the "THE ULITAME SIN" numbers, many of which were only available on this tour, with a perfect stereo line source. From the third song "Never Know Why" to the smash hit "Shot In The Dark", it is the best entertainment that vividly reflects the era! The songs from the Randy Rhoads era, such as "Mr. Crowley" and "I Don't Know", which are alternated with these songs, will also be enjoyed with Jake's original and tricky play for this time only. The middle part of the live performance, "Killer Of Giants", and "Thank God For The Bomb", which has Jake's guitar solo in between, will give you a full taste of the flavor of this arrangement! Randy Castillo's powerful and light drums, in particular, fully appeal to the grandeur of "Killer Of Giants" and the catchiness of "Thank God For The Bomb". In the latter half of "The Ultimate Sin", his playing reproduces the song with more depth than the studio take (of course, the band ensemble, such as keyboards and bass, which were difficult to hear in the audience recording, also emerges clearly before the listener's eyes). The climax of the live performance is the familiar "Iron Man", "Crazy Train" and "Paranoid"! The performances that pile up with furious momentum will allow you to enjoy the dynamism of Ozzy's live performance in the best way possible in this era! There is also an air check source of this live performance, which was a shortened version of about 50 minutes. This work, which allows you to enjoy the complete live performance in the best sound quality, is definitely a must-listen for all Ozzy fans! In the 70 minutes of this work, "Secret Looser" including the drum solo has been cut, so it is not actually a "complete recording". However, the overwhelming sound quality and highly satisfying recording content boasts a presence that stands out even in the Jake era! Live at Kemper Arena, Kansas City, MO.
