The legendary "Original Blizzard," which produced the historic masterpieces "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman," has been reissued. This work, which is renowned as a masterpiece, is inscribed with the "October 22, 1980 Chelmsford performance." This is a superb audience recording. Although I've suddenly listed them as "original" and "masterpiece," let's start from the beginning. First, what is the "Original Blizzard"? This refers to the production team of the legendary albums "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman," consisting of Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisley, and Lee Kerslake. While the rhythm section of Randy's live performances typically consisted of Rudy Sardo and Tommy Aldridge, this "Original Blizzard" live performance was only held in the very early days. However, it's quite difficult to actually listen to the live performance. While the official soundboard from the Southampton performance remains, only a few tracks were used on the live albums "Mr. Crowley" and "Tribute." For full shows, we still have to rely on audience recordings. So, what kind of records are available? We've archived as many masterpieces as possible, so let's start by organizing our collection by the dates of that time. 1980 (April 19th: "BLIZZARD OF OZZ" completed) September 3rd-18th (7 shows) * September 20th: "DEFINITIVE HAMMERSMITH 1980" September 21st-October 1st (7 shows) October 2nd: Southampton performance ← *Official SBD * October 3rd: "STOKE 1980" October 5th-9th (4 shows) * October 10th: "TAUNTON 1980" October 11th-16th (3 shows) * October 17th: "MAYFAIR BALLROOM 1980" October 18th + 20th (2 shows) * October 22nd: Chelmsford performance ← ★This work★ October 23rd-November 1st (7 shows) * November 8th: "NOTTINGHAM 1980, 1981 (February-March: Production of "DIARY OF A MADMAN") (March: Bob Daisley/Lee Kerslake leave). This is the highest peak update of the legendary recording that has become the most popular. While there are many impressive recordings, the question is, "Which is the best recording?" While audience recordings are heavily influenced by listener preferences, it's difficult to make a definitive statement. This work is the most worthy recording to be called the most popular and most "masterpiece." This show has long been known for the preservation of the "original BLIZZARD" masterpieces. The best master, which renews its peak, was discovered in 2022. This work is a meticulous CD version of that best master. First and foremost, it's the longest ever. Originally a well-known recording, the new master also included extended recordings before and after the show. In fact, there are versions of the running rhyme that are longer than this one, but that's because the pitch is slower or the silence between pauses is left as is. If the actual recording parts are corrected to normal pitch, this one is the longest. And even more important is the sound that permeates the entire album. The solid core is on and close, with no sense of distance, and the details are clearly visible. Furthermore, the new master also has plenty of naturalness. This combination of directness and naturalness is what makes this album a masterpiece. While rivals of this album include the sharp and resilient "DEFINITIVE LONDON 1980 (Zodiac 463)" and the recently acclaimed "NOTTINGHAM 1980 (Zodiac 778)" on Real Sound, this album combines the best of both worlds. Conversely, if you're looking for extreme clarity and realism, it's not surprising that other works are preferred, but when it comes to "what is the most popular and loved by everyone?", this work is undoubtedly No. 1. The sound of this champion is depicted in the "live performance version/on-site trial version of BLIZZARD OF OZZ." While the set may be familiar to avid collectors, this work is one of the "first things first" releases, so let's take a look at it again. Blizzard of Ozz (8 songs): I Don't Know (★), Crazy Train (★), Goodbye To Romance, No Bone Movies, Mr. Crowley, Suicide Solution, Revelation (Mother Earth) (★), Steal Away (The Night) (★), Others (4 songs): Single: You Looking At Me Looking At You (★), Sabbath: Iron Man (★), Children Of The Grave (★), Paranoid (★). Note: "★" indicates songs for which an official soundboard with the original lineup has not yet been released. ...And so it goes. There are no new songs from "DIARY OF A MADMAN," and all songs from "BLIZZARD OF OZZ" except "Dee" are shown. The rare track "You Looking At Me Looking At You" is also included. It combines a powerful core, dynamic resonance, and natural ease of listening. It's the pinnacle of a masterful recording, boasting the #1 popularity. "This is a masterpiece of a live album that approaches the original Blizzard, the king of Ozzy Osbourne. It's the most important work of the Randy era...or even Ozzy Osbourne's entire career. It's a superb audience recording of the October 22, 1980 Chelmsford performance. It's a masterpiece live album from the era when the original rhythm section, Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake, were present. It's the longest and highest-quality recording of a well-known master recording. The solid core of the sound is on, approaching without any sense of distance, and the details are clearly defined. It's overwhelmingly more direct than other recordings, and more natural than previous versions of the same recording. It's truly the most important work of the Randy era, worthy of being called a masterpiece." Odeon Theatre, Chelmsford, UK 22nd October 1980 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (65:46) 1. Carl Orff: Carmina Burana 2.
