Among Oasis' activities in the 2000s, the tour for the album "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" was a period that felt particularly powerful. Compared to their previous live activities, the tour took a very long time, almost a year. Thanks to this, we continue to release various live performances both in real life and now, and in the past year alone we have performed overseas such as "BERLIN 2002 DAT MASTER", "COMPLETE WITNNESS FESTIVAL 2002", and "YOYOGI 2002 1ST NIGHT: DAT MASTER". Japanese performers such as "YOYOGI 2002 FINAL NIGHT" have appeared on CD. However, this situation applies to the 2002 leg...more specifically, up to the Japan performance. Especially in Japan, it was really exciting until the autumn arrival in Japan, and the sound source of the visit to Japan continued to be released in real time. However, as soon as that ended, it seemed as if interest in the "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" tour had waned, not only in Japan but also around the world. The tour itself lasted until the end of the year, and then concluded with a short European leg in March of the following year. Regarding this period, the number of items was small to begin with, and in fact, press CD items do not exist to this day. One of these factors is that Liam's voice has become quite worn out due to the live activities he spent 2002 on, and it seems as though he gave it his all during the Japan performance. In fact, when I listen to the existing end-of-the-year recordings, his voice is not in good condition. Even with that in mind, there are extremely few items from this period, and now that nearly 20 years have passed since the tour, most enthusiasts have never heard the sound source or performance of the latter half of the "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" tour. Is it not? In order to overcome this situation, the Düsseldorf performance on March 9, 2003 will be released this time. The sound quality of the audience recording on this day is very good, and the quality is definitely suitable for a press CD. The sound image is close and the recording is very clear. However, in real Thailand, the sound source did not spread, so no items were produced, and even after the sound source appeared, there were problems. It is said that when the original sound source was distributed on the Internet in the late 2000s, the DAT tape deteriorated over time and digital noise was mixed into many places. This was especially noticeable in the first two songs from the start of the live performance, and this was the reason why they were unable to produce sound sources with excellent sound quality. Fortunately, in 2021, advances in technology have made it possible to remove all that noise upon release. If you are an enthusiast who has heard the original sound source, you will definitely be surprised by the cleanup this time. Our thorough work goes beyond noise removal. For example, it corresponded to the change in recording volume that occurred on "Better Man", and refined it to a stable state that can no longer be compared to the original recording. And it is no exaggeration to say that the content is a series of interesting things to listen to. The setlist has been revised to begin the 2003 short leg, which was the last leg of the "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" tour. After all, the opening song is the surprising “Bring It On Down.” It was only on this short tour that Alan White played the same song, and the bouncy rhythm with Alan's clause in full swing, which is completely different from the straight one of the original Tony McCarroll, is fresh. What's more, with this release, many people will be hearing Alan's version of this song for the first time. However, when the song starts, Liam's voice is sharp. It's almost as if it's the origin of the infamous "meow voice" from 2005. As for his condition here, Noel will reveal it before the live performance of “Little By Little”, but apparently Liam had a cold. That didn't happen during the two days in Dublin, which was one of the few performances on the 2003 tour where items were released, and I guess he caught a cold while traveling to Germany. Fortunately, however, Liam recovered quickly in Düsseldorf. Also, the fact that his throat was two years younger than in 2005 is telling. Thanks to this, they were able to easily sing "Supersonic", which was not performed the previous year, and "Champagne Supernova", which was revived as the closing repertoire before the encore on this short tour, was also performed. More than that, the biggest thing to hear in the 2003 short-term leg is "Songbird," a rare real-time live performance. It is a masterpiece that became a regular repertoire from 2005 until the dissolution of Oasis, but it was only performed live on the "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" tour 8 times in 2003. Nowadays, there may be many people who don't even know that it was shown at the real tie. Compared to the version that has been established in the repertoire since 2005, the performance is simpler and reflects the atmosphere of the original song, and there is still no harmonious Noel like in later live performances, and the author Liam personally recorded the song. It's interesting how the performance begins. In addition, the pattern in which Noel plays the riff of the Beatles' "Day Tripper" during the break of "Cigarettes & Alcohol" has been passed down among enthusiasts as a rare arrangement unique to this period, but the pattern was to force a return to the song from that riff. is really interesting. Isn't it a great achievement that this valuable arrangement, which was only available for a short period of time from the end of 2002, has been recorded for the first time? Even funny incidents such as ``Force Of Nature'', where Noel missed the timing of the count and the intro became long, are even captured. The 2003 short-term leg, where items only existed in Dublin at the beginning of the tour, will be the first release sound source and the first release from there. Above all, even on the same "HEATHEN CHEMISTRY" tour, the composition and performance different from 2002 do not look fresh!
