After the "BE HERE NOW" tour ended in South America in March, Oasis' activities went on a hiatus, but from July to August, Noel performed as an undercard for Paul Weller's live performance. It is surprising that he, who had already achieved sufficient status, was the opening act for an artist during this period, but it makes sense if it was Weller. In fact, I think the truth is that he wanted to get used to being a musician even during his time off, so he returned to the stage as an opening act. Noel had previously performed as the opening act at Weller's show in 1995 twice, but in 1998 it was a more serious one, performing six times from July to August. From this, it can be seen that he was also used to warm up his shoulders during the off-season. Of those six stages, "SUPPORTING BIG BROTHER" was released in real life for the two stages that had the best sound quality, and many people probably own them. This free CD-R includes two stages that have never been released before, and the sound quality of both is...not good. To be frank, the quality is unbelievable from 1998 (bitter smile). Among them, the first stage recorded on July 28th was of considerably rough quality. In the first place, the recording started with a cut-in from the opening song “Stand By Me”, and above all, it was in a muffled state. Fortunately, the situation quickly improved and the quality improved, but it was still far from the level of "SUPPORTING BIG BROTHER". Therefore, although it has been circulating among traders, it has not been released as an item until now, but the performance content is heated and the venue is so excited that it is hard to believe that it is an opening act. This area is like Noel, as expected. In addition, by adjusting the pitch, the quality is rougher than the original sound, but it is easier to hear. In that respect, the stage on August 6th was much easier to listen to, but although it was good that "Stand By Me" was recorded without cuts, this time there were several small sound breaks during the same song. Oops. It's not something that can be easily solved. However, this one has a different charm from "SUPPORTING BIG BROTHER" and July 28th in that it hardly picks up the surrounding excitement and allows you to listen to Noel's singing carefully. Still, when it came to “Don’t Look Back In Anger”, Noel made the audience sing along, and it was probably exciting at the actual venue. Also, the high pitch has been adjusted, making it much easier to listen to. In this way, both sound sources had some kind of problem and were not released until now, but they are also valuable sound sources, and above all, they are rare recordings from the time when Oasis was on hiatus. Coupled with the first audience recording of the undercard performance.
