NIRVANA signed with Geffen Records in 1991 and started moving towards the historic "NEVERMIND" revolution. A studio album that compiles the rare tracks with the best masters is now available. We have introduced a group of masterpieces supervised by overseas NIRVANA researchers, and this is the latest installment. This work permanently preserves 17 studio recordings. They can be broadly divided into three parts, so let's introduce each one individually. January 1991: "Music Source" Sessions (7 songs) First up is an early session held on New Year's Day in the revolutionary year of 1991. In September 1990, Dave Grohl joined the band, and they began composing while touring the UK and the US. It was a creative period that produced dozens of new songs. In the midst of all this, on New Year's Day, a demo was recorded at the studio "Music Source" that was used for the EP "BLEW". This session was also included in the official "WITH THE LIGHTS OUT" with one song, "Aneurysm", but this work contains the complete version of seven songs. Moreover, the sound has been updated to the best ever. Even "Aneurysm" is much more natural and beautiful than the official take of "WITH THE LIGHTS OUT", and it really shows the power of the best master. This session was originally aimed at releasing an EP, but it never came to fruition. The completed "Aneurysm" and "Even In His Youth" were remixed and used on the B-side of the single "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Also, although the take is different, "Oh, The Guilt" became a split single with THE JESUS LIZARD, and the two songs "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" and "All Apologies" were repurposed for "IN UTERO". This demo shows how high the creativity of this period was. April 1991: "THE RETARDS" Session (1 song) Next up is "Drain You" by the phantom super band "THE RETARDS". "THE RETARDS" was an impromptu band consisting of Kurt Cobain and Grohl, Dale Crover of MELVINS, and his girlfriend Debbie Shane. The session took place when they met at a house they shared, and at the time, they were very excited about forming a new band. The three of them brought their own ideas and worked hard on composing, and Kurt brought in the unfinished song "Formula". It was written for NIRVANA, but the drum part had not been decided and it was shelved, but Dale added a drum part to it, and "Drain You" was completed. This take is also included in the official "WITH THE LIGHTS OUT", but of course this is a different version. The pre-performance part that was cut from the official version is still there, and it is about 20 seconds longer. It is the best version with a good sound and is permanently preserved. May 1991: NEVERMIND Production Sessions (6 songs, 9 tracks)The last section is the historic NEVERMIND production session. In addition to "Come As You Are," "Lounge Act," and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from NEVERMIND, "Sappy" provided for NO ALTERNATIVE, and "Old Age (3 versions)" and "Verse Chrous Verse (2 versions)" that saw the light of day on WITH THE LIGHTS OUT are included. This section can also be roughly divided into two parts at the production stage. Five tracks are from the early stages with raw demo vocals. Four tracks are from another version (Pre-Mastered Mixes) that is as complete as the final version. Of course, these are not copies of WITH THE LIGHTS OUT, but all the tracks are digitized directly from the best masters. This is a treasure collection of 17 tracks, 64 minutes and 51 seconds in total. There are many tracks that you can't hear on the official "WITH THE LIGHTS OUT", and even the same take is longer and the sound is the best. It's a studio album that goes beyond the official one. It's an absolute album that you should put next to "NEVERMIND". A collection of studio rare tracks produced for "NEVERMIND". There are many tracks that you can't hear on the official "WITH THE LIGHTS OUT", and even the same take is longer and the sound is better than the official one. It's an absolute studio album that you should put next to "NEVERMIND". Various Studio Sessions 1991 STEREO SBD UPGRADE & LONGER...A MUST!!!
