The legendary rare track series "OUTCESTICIDE" has also shocked with the release of "OUTCESTICIDE 2022". The phantom sixth installment, which had disappeared into the darkness of history, has finally been realized. As mentioned in the commentary on "OUTCESTICIDE 2022" the other day, "OUTCESTICIDE" is a super famous series that is said to be "comparable to the official works". It is a collection of unreleased studio tracks and extremely rare live performances, and its rarity and quality are a symbol that cannot be beaten. Because it is so famous, copies and unauthorized re-edits are rampant. Nowadays, no one can know how many works there are, but the original company has only released five works, "OUTCESTICIDE V: DISINTIGRATION". In 2002, the release of the sixth installment, "RAW POWER", was announced, but various circumstances occurred and the release was canceled. "Blue Moon Records" was forced to dismantle and the master of "RAW POWER" was confiscated. The possibility of release was also lost. Until now. Twenty years after the release was cancelled in 2002, the day has finally come when we can experience the full picture of "RAW POWER". Of course, even now, "Blue Moon Records" has not been revived, and the situation of the master being lost has not changed. However, a NIRVANA researcher who loves the "OUTCESTICIDE" series has used all kinds of materials and sources. He has succeeded in recreating the phantom work "RAW POWER". That is this work. So, what was revealed at the time of the announcement of the release? "Blue Moon Records" has released a track list to know the demand of collectors and is soliciting opinions. Not only the song titles, but also details such as the time, significance, and recording method were written in detail. In other words, strictly speaking, it is not the actual "RAW POWER master" owned by "Blue Moon Records", but the variety and quality of collector sound sources have improved dramatically over the past 20 years. "Probably the sound source that "Blue Moon Records" was trying to release" has been realized. Let's take a look at the contents right away. [Studio Recording Rough Mix] June 1988: Reciprocal Recording (2 songs) - "Love Buzz" "Sifting" This is a compilation work that mixes studio recordings and live recordings, and the order of the songs is not chronological. Here, we will introduce them by section for easy understanding. First, there are two types of studio recordings, 9 takes. One of them is two rough mix demos recorded at "Reciprocal Recording Studio" in June 1988 when "BLEACH" was being produced. It is an early/long version of "Love Buzz" and an instrumental version of "Sifting". January 1991: Studio A (7 songs) - "Aneurysm", "Oh, The Guilt", "Four Month Media Blackout", "On A Plain", "All Apologies", "Even In His Youth", "Token Eastern Song" Next is the "NEVERMIND" era. It contains 7 demos recorded under the production of Craig Montgomery from the New Year's Day 1991 session before the actual recording began. "On A Plain" and "All Apologies" have different lyrics from the early days, and "Token Eastern Song" can be heard in the live version from when it was called "Junkyard". Furthermore, "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter", which will be included in "IN UTERO", can be heard in the original "Four Month Media Blackout" version. [Live/Rehearsal Recording] Very early (1987: 3 songs) - "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves (AUD)", "Heartbreaker (AUD)", "How Many More Times (AUD)" The "Live/Rehearsal Recording" where you can enjoy precious live performances is recorded in 13 takes, the oldest being 3 audience recordings in 1987 when Aaron Burkhard was playing drums. They play covers of Sonny & Cher and LED ZEPPELIN, and "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" is sung by Krist Novoselic. BLEACH era (1988: 3 songs) - "Moby Dick", "Immigrant Song (AUD)", "Run, Rabbit, Run! (AUD)" - 3 live songs recorded in 1988 while BLEACH was being produced. A cover of ZEP is featured here as well, showing the deep roots of the band. "Run, Rabbit, Run!" is a cover of Finnish glam band SMACK. NEVERMIND era (1990/1991: 2 songs) - "Here She Comes Now" and "Old Age (AUD)" - Both live songs were recorded during the production of NEVERMIND. "Here She Comes Now" was recorded live in May 1990, one year before the actual recording (only "Polly" had already been produced), and the drummer was Chad Channing. "Old Age" was recorded with an audience in March 1991, two months before production began, and Dave Grohl had taken over. "IN UTERO" era (1993/1994: 5 takes) - "Heart-Shaped Box (2 takes)", "Rape Me", "Serve The Servants", "Dumb" The last one is a live/rehearsal from the "IN UTERO" era with Pat Smear. There are two main types of sound sources included, one is a rehearsal for the TV program "Saturday Night Live" recorded on "September 23, 1993". It was recorded at the NBC TV studio and includes two songs, three takes, including a retake of "Heart-Shaped Box". The other is also related to TV, and is two songs from an appearance on the Italian TV station RAI-TV's program "The Tunnel Club". It was recorded on "February 23, 1994", about three months after "MTV UNPLUGGED", and Melora Krieger was also appointed on cello. This is a treasure trove of 22 takes in total. The phantom "OUTCESTICIDE (6th)" that we could only look at in the list until now. The time has come to actually listen to it in the best quality. The 6th installment of the legendary rare compilation "OUTCESTICIDE series" that became a phantom when the label collapsed just before its release 20 years ago. It is completely different from the shocking "OUTCESTICIDE 2022" the other day, and is a reproduction album that NIRVANA researchers put together using materials and sources based on the remaining track list. This is the final installment of the series that was made possible thanks to 20 years of sound source excavation.Recreating the unreleased Blue Moon Records 2002 Compilation (78:58) 01.
