NICK MASON'S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS became the biggest dark horse of 2018, producing incredible masterpieces day after day. A video work that allows you to enjoy the scene with multiple cameras has been decided to be released. This work includes “September 11, 2018 Dusseldorf Performance”. Currently, they have completed all their plans for this year and are heading into the off-season. The generalization of recording by maniacs is also coming to an end. However, the video is still good. Not only are wonderful audience shots popping out, but editing works that make full use of them are also being created. This work is an exceptional multi-camera audience shot. Before we look at the quality, first of all is the show position. We have reported on their shows under numerous titles, so let's organize them by schedule. ・May 20th-24th: UK #1 (4 performances) ・September 2nd: Stockholm ・September 3rd “COPENHAGEN 2018: MULTICAM” ・September 4th: Rostock ・September 6th “AMSTERDAM 2018”・September 8th: Antwerp ・September 9th: Luxembourg ・September 10th “PARIS OLYMPIA 2018” ・September 11th: Düsseldorf ←★Here★・September 13th “HAMBURG 2018” ・September 15th Sun: Stuttgart・September 16th “BERLIN 2018”・September 17th: Leipzig・September 19th “VIENNA 2018”・September 20th “LIVE IN MILAN 2018”・September 21st: Zurich・9 March 23rd - 29th: UK #2 (6 shows) This is all the shows held to date. It can be broadly divided into ``May Release (UK #1)'', ``European Edition'', and ``UK #2'', and this work is of course the continental edition. The above is a detailed summary of only the continental version. The Düsseldorf performance is also reported in the live album “DUSSELDORF 2018”, but this work is also a video version of it. And the quality is exquisite. It is a multi-camera work that combines various pieces of footage to create a full show, and it is different from normal audience shots and has a wonderfully crafted feel. In addition to the novelty of changing scenery depending on the highlight, the key to this work is the sense of editing. Speaking of their multi-camera work, their masterpiece "COPENHAGEN 2018: MULTICAM (Amity 476)" has attracted attention, but in reality, this work is not that diverse. Perhaps the number of videos that appeared is different, but although the left and right center angles can change freely, it has not reached the close-up of a professional shot. However, the sense of editing that puts it together is comparable. Perhaps he took advantage of the fact that he couldn't take super close-up shots, and used medium-distance/long-distance shots to create a fantastical stage full of mood. Of course, the switching is not done by song, but by phrase or measure, and the timing is synchronized with the beat. However, what gives me a sense of style is that each cut is used for a long time. Multi-camera editing by enthusiasts tends to want to show off the variety of material, so they tend to switch cuts incessantly. If it's a close-up of the hand or facial expression, it's effective, but it's not so effective if it's a panoramic shot. When a new cut is shown, it takes a while (albeit momentarily) for the brain to find the point to focus on. Therefore, if you only focus on distant views and change them too frequently, it will not look very effective, but it will somehow become difficult to see. However, that does not happen in this work. You can fully enjoy the beauty of the beautiful lighting as it slowly licks the stage, and yet you can move on to the next scene before you get bored. The timing is exactly in line with the song, and the camera work is truly elegant. What further enhances the feel of the work is the audio. No matter how the scene changes, the sound is a superb recording that is stable and penetrates all at once. Not only is the basic quality overwhelming, but this is a direct sound with no sense of distance. Therefore, it feels synchronized with the band itself, and no matter how the distance or angle of the image changes, there is no sense of discomfort. Simply connecting flashy and good-looking materials would be enough, but the level of perfection of this work goes beyond that. A visual eye that sees through the charm of the material, an editing ability that takes advantage of it, a deep understanding of the early FLOYD numbers...this is a video masterpiece overflowing with the passion and sense of such a maniac. And, the important thing is that their show was so great that it made the maniacs go that far. This is a piece that allows you to fully enjoy the world of music not only through the sounds but also through the sights.
