The Bridge School Benefit was hosted by Neil Young and his then-wife Pegi for many years. This event was groundbreaking because even before the word "unplugged" became popular, it was held every time with the premise of an acoustic live performance. It's nostalgic to see them swinging around. This event started in 1986, and for the first 10 years, rare performances were held every year to the point that it could be called vintage. In particular, the stages put on by Neil himself, the organizer, were a hot topic every time, and in 1990 it was very popular among enthusiasts. After all, this year was groundbreaking in that Neil led Crazy Horse on the bridge stage for the first time, and even though Crazy Horse had always had an electric sound, they performed in a completely acoustic style. This was the first time it was shown. What's more, they completed the masterpiece "RAGGED GLORY", and a few weeks after this bridge, they were scheduled to perform at a gig in Santa Cruz, which was released this year as "WAY DOWN IN THE RUST BUCKET", which was the perfect timing. Such a historic acoustic stage is full of valuable content. First, "Lotta Love" was played at the opening of the event, and then the third stage was a parade of magnificent Crazy Horse classics. The songs included in “RAGGED GLORY”, which were new songs at the time, are now a part of history. Among them, this was the only time they played “Mansion On The Hill” and the classic “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” in an acoustic and full band formation. What's more, it was a rare moment for him to play the famous song "Helpless" in the same key as the album version. And Elvis Costello, who finished his own stage, joined in “Down By The River”, which became a hot topic from that time. Although it was a very rare bridge performance in 1990, songs such as "Love And Only Love" and "Down By The River" were officially released on a compilation of past performances at the event. However, the release format for all of them is distribution only. Above all, the entirety of Neil & Horse's ultra-rare acoustic stage never saw the light of day. On the contrary, it was even considered a legendary episode in the history of bridges, where even audience recordings did not spread among traders. The audience master of such a phantom episode was finally unearthed this year. The record of the bridge stage, which was so rare as a modern sound source from 1990, has finally appeared. As I have written so far, the content alone was the stage of Neil Mania tears all over the world, but the sound quality is truly wonderful. Although it is a sound source that captures an acoustic show where the sound output tends to be modest, you can't help but be surprised by the sound image that is so powerful that you would want to describe it as "just like a soundboard." However, the problem with this sound source was that the pitch was high from the master stage. Adjust this problem carefully. The legendary acoustic stage that led Crazy Horse as a prelude to the official “WAY DOWN IN THE RUST BUCKET” has finally been released with the highest quality audience recording!
