We present the audience album of the "May 12, 1990: Yokohama Arena Performance". First, let's check the positional relationship with the DVD by date. May 8: Osaka Castle Hall *DVD May 11: Nagoya City General Gymnasium May 12: Yokohama Arena [This work] May 14: Nippon Budokan May 15: Nippon Budokan May 16: Nippon Budokan In this way, "DR. FEELGOOD JAPAN TOUR 1990" is a DVD of all 6 performances, and the Osaka performance is the first day, and this work is the middle third performance. Such a work is an extremely valuable real record of that time. In fact, 1990 was a transitional period for bootlegs. At that time, it was a transitional period from analog to CD, and bootlegs were a little later than the general official market. Although the number of fans listening to analog was decreasing, it was not enough for everyone to listen to bootlegs on CD. Apart from super-big-name musicians who were big enough to be general news, even MOTLEY CRUE was a time when CDs were rarely released. That's why there were hardly any audience recordings available at the time. This work is one that broke that situation. It is an audience album that was unearthed in the 21st century and released as "FATAL STRIKES" by the POWER GATE label. It was a direct CD version of a treasured cassette handed over by the recorder himself, and at the time, it was a big topic of conversation, with people asking, "Is this MOTLEY CRUE in their heyday?" Of course, it wasn't just because it was valuable that it was so much of a fuss. The wonderful audience sound was the striking impact. It's not the type that would be mistaken for a "soundboard?", but the extremely thick and clear musical tones and singing voices are so vivid that they can even dismiss poor line recordings. I don't know the exact recording position, but the huge enthusiasm swirls around in a small way, never interfering with the musical tones that reach straight through. There is no muffled or muddy sound, and the separation of each instrument is vivid. In particular, Mick Mars' guitar is as clear as a line recording, even down to the nuances of picking and arming. "That's like a soundboard," you might say, but if I had to say, the bass is a little thin. Yes, it's like a lightly mixed radio broadcast. It's soundboard-class quality with such detailed edges. (With this re-release, it has been remastered and both the sound quality and the sense of scale have been improved!) And the gorgeousness of the golden age of MOTLEY CRUE depicted with that quality is amazing. It seems like a lineup of greatest hits from "TOO FAST FOR LOVE" to "DR. FEELGOOD", but there is something a little different about it. Looking more closely, it is biased towards "SHOUT AT THE DEVIL" and "DR. FEELGOOD", and the latter in particular is a big operation with 7 out of the 11 songs on the album. Just over eight months after its release, the band is already overflowing with the confidence of a huge hit, and because it's real time, they're hitting it hard without narrowing it down to "this is it!" This live album is packed with momentum, not just in the performance but also in the audience. The 1980s was the era when the music business was at its highest in human history. This is a 100% live album of MOTLEY CRUE's 1990 Japan tour, when they finally reached their peak after running through that decade. The rock and roll that repainted the world with those four silly guys getting carried away.
