In recent years, the sound sources of the Moody Blues' "Classic 7" period, which was a series of masterpieces at the height of their power, have been concentrated on the 1974 live performances before their hiatus, including the famous Mike Millard recording "L.A. FORUM 1974: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES", but JEMS, who unearthed the Millard recording of the same board, has unearthed a completely unreleased 1972 live recording! At that time, they were at the peak of their popularity, and finally realized a live performance at Madison Square Garden. In addition, the historical masterpiece "SEVENTH SOJOURN" that concluded the "Classic 7" period has just been released, making it the best timing. It is the first appearance of a sound source from the period that enthusiasts have been waiting for to be excavated. The recording is a mono vintage audience, but the quality is very easy to listen to. If it is a newly excavated sound source of this era, it is appreciated even if it is a rough audience recording. However, the first-time audience this time was well-balanced, with the singing voices of Justin Hayward and Ray Thomas being well-balanced, and even a press CD would have been enough. Moreover, the balance of the performance was excellent, with Hayward's lead guitar exploding from the opening "The Story in Your Eyes". In recent years, the excavation of the 1974 sound source mentioned above has tended to be biased, so this energetic opening itself may feel quite fresh to enthusiasts. However, the smash hit album "SEVENTH SOJOURN", which would later become number one on the Billboard charts, had only just been released at this point. For that reason, only two songs were played from the album, and even "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)", which would later become a staple at the end of the concert, was not played. After all, it is only with a well-balanced audience recording that the cheers of the classics at that point, such as "Tuesday Afternoon" and the "Have You Heard?" suite, are conveyed to the audience with a pleasant presence. And when "Nights in White Satin" was played with a laid-back arrangement typical of 1972, the excitement was so moving that you could imagine the venue giving a standing ovation. It is clear that their unique sound, which could be called "prog that is not too difficult", which was possible only at that time, captivated the MSG audience. This is a literally good audience album that captures the historic first MSG performance at the time when they were about to conquer the US with the release of the masterpiece "SEVENTH SOJOURN". Not only is it valuable, but the pitch is accurate and the recording quality is also a big attraction. This is an amazing first-time recording made by JEMS from the 1972 live performance that maniacs would have wanted to hear the most during the "Classic 7" era, the golden age of Moody Blues!
