Nils, who was knighted by the Queen of Denmark and praised by international media as "the best pianist of his generation," has assembled a superb group of members to set new standards, and this latest live performance is the first of its kind! ! The two-disc set, which contains the complete recording of the performance at Cinema Paradiso in Sankt Pölten, Austria on June 28, 2022, including the encore, has been released in superb high-quality stereo sound with careful mastering by the label! ! Nils, who is said to be one of the most important pianists in European jazz over the past 45 years, and trumpet master Randy Brecker, who has won seven Grammys and participated in hundreds of albums in all genres, and Bill Evans, who was selected as a regular member of the king of jazz, Miles Davis' miraculous comeback band, and has released more than 20 albums as a leader while backing up various big names. In fact, he worked with Randy in a group called Dreams in the late 1960s, and later worked with Miles and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. This project aims to build a bridge to new jazz standards by bringing together the undisputed members Billy Cobham, who has been active in the fields of jazz and other genres and has been inducted into the Modern and Classical Drummer Halls of Fame in recent years, Miroslav Vitous, Alphonso Johnson, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Bailey, Matthew Garrison, Edienne Mbappé, Richard Bona, and Linley Malto, the last bassist who backed up Joe Zawinul, who discovered many historic bassists, until his death. The repertoire generally referred to as "jazz standards" consists mainly of pop songs from the 1930s and 40s, reworked by jazz musicians of the time, providing the general public with a radically different perspective on widely popular songs. The jazz performances eventually outlived the original versions, and jazz musicians continued to play and record these same songs over and over again, and eventually, instead of accepting brand new songs, they started creating performances of each other's performances. Eventually, everyone forgot about the original versions, and decades later, these songs became recognized as classic jazz repertoires forever. Yes, this is a rare project that I would like to support, even if only in my own way, in order to update the jazz giants of the past, such as "Autumn Leaves," "My Funny Valentine," and "My Favorite Things," which were covered by Miles Davis, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, and Keith Jarrett and left many famous performances, by pursuing the quality of the material and making them jazz standards, and conveying the original form of jazz to future generations. The performances were all amazing, and the new standards selected were Taylor Swift's "Willow," Bruno Mars' "Keep the Door Open," and even BTS' "Dynamite." Whether you know the original songs or not, this live performance is full of the best performances that will let you enjoy the royal road of modern jazz!!
