This new release features rare, unreleased recordings from the early days of Jonathan Richman's Modern Lovers, recorded between 1971 and 1973. This pristine collection features unreleased sessions recorded between 1971 and 1973, using state-of-the-art AI demixing and remastering. Jonathan Richman formed the Modern Lovers in 1970 with future Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison. This new release features previously unreleased sessions recorded between 1971 and 1973, using state-of-the-art AI demixing and remastering. These recordings have previously surfaced on several vinyl bootlegs, including "The Original Modern Lovers," released by BOMB! in 1981. The album first appeared on the underground bootleg CD "Songs of Remembrance" in the '90s, and a few years ago, a fan compilation titled "Unreleased Studio Demos 1971-1973" surfaced online. This compilation was previously released on the same label, "I Can Take a Blank Stare," and was remastered with state-of-the-art AI demixing technology for exceptional clarity. Some tracks also featured remixes, including a correction where Harrison and Richman were on reversed channels. This release also includes newly unearthed acetates of both the 1972 John Cale and 1973 Kim Fowley sessions, as well as an alternate mix of Roadrunner by John Cale. Furthermore, this release offers a significant upgrade, adding rare live recordings from the same period. The sonic upgrades include de-de-clacking and light decrackling of the acetate transfers, de-essing (especially the Kim Fowley acetate transfers), and de-mixing for sound balance and further noise reduction. In addition to the maximum possible sound quality improvements, the addition of live recordings allows you to fully enjoy the rare recordings of the Modern Lovers from their original four-piece era! 01.Ride Down On The Highway 02.Such Loneliness* 03.Girlfriend 04.Roadrunner (alternate mix)* <1972 John Cale sessions> 05.A Plea For Tenderness 06.A Song Of Remembrance For Old Girlfriends <1972 Dinky Dawson session with Kim Fowley> 07.Hospital* 08.A Plea For Tenderness* 09.Dignified And Old 10.Modern World* 11.Fly Into The Mystery* <1973 Kim Fowley sessions> Bonus: 12.I'm Straight <1972 Dinky Dawson version from "The Original Modern Lovers", remixed> 13.Roadrunner 14.I'm Dropping My Friends (One By One)* 15.Foggy Notion* 16.Womanhood * 17.96 Tears* 18.The Mixer* 19.Wake Up Sleepyheads* *new or upgraded
