The definitive version of the first day of the Keystone concert in San Francisco, which marked the beginning of 1975, when the one and only Miles Davis music was completed, has been released with clear contours of each instrument and high sound quality! ! Miles placed the most importance on the guitar sound when going electric. At the end of 1974, one of the triple guitarists, Dominic Gameau, left the band, and returned to the contrasting but outstanding combination of Pete Cosey and Reggie Lucas. After many twists and turns, Miles' band in 1975, which he was convinced was the ideal sound, started with three consecutive performances at Keystone Corner, a jazz club in San Francisco. Here, the new Miles band finally reveals its full potential. The stage on the first day at Keystone Corner on January 14, 1975, where Michael Henderson's bass was cracked and the sound image was somewhat muffled, has been released, but the sound of each instrument, including Michael, is clear and the sound quality has been improved by several ranks. ! In 1975, the "mystery" that is a characteristic of Electric Miles accelerated even further. It is not often said, but the greater the musician, the more harsh the environment for new creation, the more likely they are to become absorbed in mystical things such as drugs, religion, and magic. Classical musicians such as Bach, who cannot be discussed without a connection to religion, Charles Manson, who founded a religious religion, Jimmy Page, who believed in the black magician Aleister Crowder, Bob Marley, who dedicated himself to God, Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin, who were devoted to India, and Miles, who supported African magic and religion, were they a way to place themselves in a world of fantasy (delusion) due to their desire to create a new world? However, the music that arrives through this is very original and attractive, and has an indescribable "mystery" and "sexiness". I believe that there are musicians who can feel this... The key to the first day of the Keystone Corner is the two songs "Mysha" and "Mtume" from "Get Up With It". The atmosphere of the live performances changes before and after October 1974, when these songs were recorded. Since then, and especially as 1975 has arrived, the atmosphere has become more and more mysterious and eerie. This tendency is common to the entire Miles band in 1975. It may also be related to Miles' poor health. The arrangements of the same songs on this 1975 tour were significantly different for each performance, and not only were the improvisations of Miles and the front members who took the solos different, but the tempo of the songs was also different, and even the rhythm and melody were changed according to Miles' mood at the time. All the members were in perfect communication with Miles, and although they were arranged on the spot, they were so well prepared that they boasted a high level of perfection. Miles' constant instructions to his band members, "Never play the same thing twice!", have been in the ideal form since the last golden quintet of the acoustic era, and this 1975 tour was the ideal form. This performance, which was the first step, cannot be said to be perfect, but it is a pleasure to have this precious live performance from the transitional period towards the peak revived in high quality! The definitive first stage in the journey to completing Electric Miles is here!
