This recording captures the July 4th performance in East Rutherford, part of the band's full-scale 1982 US comeback tour, with a high-quality audience master and the latest digital remastering in 2025. While only 50 minutes long, this is the only remaining recording, a rare performance rarely available in the past. Balance adjustments and other adjustments ensure the live performance is of the highest quality available. This tour, dubbed the "Come Back Band," saw Miles and the band on a roll after a five-year hiatus. While the performance featured only four lengthy tracks, the selections from "The Man With the Horn" were unusual for this period, primarily solo improvisation. In contrast to Miles' slightly off-kilter moments, Mike Stern's crisp rhythms and flowing solo phrases, along with Marcus' powerful, booming bass, are truly impressive, making this a truly remarkable album that reaffirms the greatness of Miles in the '80s.
