This recording captures the band's performance at the July 25, 1987, annual jazz festival, "Live Under the Sky," in Japan, with the highest quality audio and video quality. This recording features soundboard audio and pro-shot footage from FM radio and TV broadcasts, all digitally remastered in 2025. The audio has been significantly updated, and the 62-minute recording includes the complete version of every song performed that day. The video has also been digitally enhanced for the best possible quality. While the recording is a digest for the TV broadcast, it also includes the documentary "Master Miles' Musical Life," comprised of rare interviews with Miles, totaling 42 minutes. The performance, centered around Kenny Garrett, who was Miles' right-hand man at the time, and featuring twin keyboardists Robert Irving and Adam Holtzman, bassist Darryl Jones, and drummer Ricky Wellman, clearly demonstrates why Miles himself was so fond of this band. The band's harmonious groove, creating a truly enjoyable performance from start to finish, is truly captivating. The set also includes a selection of tracks from "TUTU," which won a Grammy Award that same year, to "Perfect Way," "Tutu," "Splatch," and the final track, "Time After Time," making it a truly exceptional piece that allows you to enjoy the rich content and performance through sound and video.
