This is a 40-minute special program featuring Mick Jagger, featuring an original interview recorded in Japan during Mick's first performance in Japan in 1988. It was broadcast on March 23, 1988 under the title "Best Hits USA with Mick Jagger", and the long interview with Mick recorded in Japan on March 10 before the tour started, which can be watched in its entirety, is a must-see. The program is structured as a Q&A format interview between the presenter and Mick, with promotional material for solo songs and the Stones, and together with nostalgic commercials that remind us of those times, it is a fun, uncut, 40-minute program to watch. "Best Hits USA" is familiar to fans of Western music in the 1980s, but in this episode, the only thing that is shown at the end is an introduction to the charts for that week, and almost the entire program is dedicated to Mick, which is quite unusual for a program, and this alone conveys the special feeling. Near the beginning, the live performance of Under My Thumb at Wembley, London on June 25, 1982 is played, but unlike the original broadcast, only the audio has been replaced with that of the official "Still Life" album. Anyway, this is the only long in-view of Mick from this period, other than press conferences, so it is still very valuable even now. Mick's comments are all typical of the time, and everyone will be fascinated by the interesting content. At the end, the track list for the Osaka performance on March 15 is played along with outtakes of interview shots. (The following are excerpts from Mick's interview.) "I've never even been to Japan secretly. Only at the airport. It's only been two days, but it seems like a nice place. It's even nicer than New York." "The Stones were on hiatus, so I was invited there this time. But I proceeded very carefully to avoid a repeat of 15 years ago. After what happened, we were also refraining from doing things like that." "It's important to stay in shape, but I don't do long-distance marathons. That's actually unhealthy. You shouldn't do that." "I don't do choreography on stage. I don't care about my image. I'm just myself." "Sometimes I get sick of rock. My solo albums are quieter and more delicate than the Stones' 'Dirty Work.'" "The first one is the best. If you do it too many times, you get bored of it. Rock is all about momentum. If you do it too many times, you get stuck in a mold." "At school, I studied economics and political science. I should have done accounting instead (laughs). But I didn't study much. I sang in bands at clubs on the weekends. Yes. So, I had a hard time choosing my path. I didn't think it would end up like this. "I'm a traditional rock'n'roller. I've heard that I have musical roots. The sound is conservative. When you program a drum machine, you have to sing along with it. With a drummer, they match the song to you. A live relationship, a human is best. Now everything is set. The tempo is set, the sound is set. It's all machine-made. The Stones don't use programs, but solo artists do. But a human is better." "I have no plans for solo concerts in other countries. This tour of Japan is special. I'll finish the Stones album in no time. By the end of this year. I'm in contact with the other members by phone." The program itself has been released on DVD in the past, so it's familiar to enthusiasts, but this is probably the only one that has been recorded from start to finish, including commercials, and released on DVD, so it's a great album for fans who want to immerse themselves in the nostalgic mood.
