A new discovery of Kinney's original cassette! This work includes the Sendai performance "January 15, 1984: Miyagi Kenmin Kaikan" of M.S.G.'s third visit to Japan, "BUILT TO DESTROY JAPAN TOUR 1983". This tour was a tremendous tour that traversed the archipelago with a total of 12 performances, and was the pinnacle of Michael Schenker's visit to Japan. First of all, let’s check the position of this work from the schedule. ・January 11th: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium ・January 12th: Hiroshima Postal Savings ・January 13th: Fukushima Sun Palace ・January 15th: Miyagi Prefectural Hall [This work] ・January 17th and 18th: Hokkaido Welfare Pension ・January 20th: Osaka Castle Hall ・January 21st: Shibuya Public Hall ・January 22nd: Nagoya City Public Hall ・January 23rd: Nippon Budokan ・January 25th: Shizuoka Civic Cultural Center ・January 27th : Nagoya City Public Hall The Sendai performance of this work is the fourth performance out of a total of 12 performances. There were various CDs from this tour, including "EVE OF DESTRUCTION" at Osaka Castle, "PRINCE DAKKAR" at Shibuya Public Hall, "THE MOVING ELEMENT" at Nippon Budokan, and "SYSTEMS NEVER FAILING" at Nagoya, but the Sendai performance was This is the first time in history that it has appeared. Moreover, it was Kinney who recorded his first visit to Sendai. This work is a gem that was converted directly to CD from the original Kinney cassette. The sound you're interested in is exactly Kinney Magic. As soon as the song is played, the loud cheers that pop out make me flinch for a moment, but once the performance begins, the loud music is overshadowed by the thunderous sound. After all, Michael's Flying V is wonderful, with its sweet tone and sharp picking. Opening with the famous instrumental "Captain Nemo," the clapping of hands became part of the rhythm section and enlivened the beautiful phrases. Not only the band, but the entire venue came together to praise Flying V, and in response, sweet and sharp guitar tones poured out. It is a recording with such an atmosphere and balance. Of course, it's not just the guitar that is clearly beautiful. Gary Burden, who has gotten better each time he visits Japan, the rhythm section of Chris Glenn and Ted McKenna, who were revived at this year's MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST, and the colorful Andy Nye are also vivid. The most stable ensemble in the history of M.S.G. is included, and it is a sound that can be enjoyed in detail. Such a sound depicts the culmination of “Original M.S.G.”, which has been going on since 1979. Along the way, Derek St. Holmes was brought in at the request of the record company, but as expected, he left the band soon after. The combination of founding members Michael and Gary is supported by THE SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND's ally rhythm section, making it a truly ironclad structure. The five of us, including Andy, have been working together for more than a year, so we're all on the same page. That general sense is reflected in the set list, which includes the best songs of "God (Return of the Flying Arrow)," "Mythology," and "Endless Battle." I think there are many people who consider these three pieces to be Michael's pinnacle, but since you can listen to the carefully selected set at once with 100% performance, it can't be bad. The pinnacle of this “original M.S.G.” era was thoroughly enjoyed in various previous releases, but this work is a rare Sendai performance. In addition to the MC, songs such as "Attack Of The Mad Axeman" include "Sendai" in the lyrics, and are packed with performances that can only be heard in this work and that can be heard for the first time in this work. The cheers are even more reminiscent of Sendai. Compared to Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, the number of foreign performers in Japan is limited, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the audience is excited and singing in a frenzy. As mentioned earlier, no matter how much of a fuss there is, the beautiful sound of the Flying V will not be disturbed, but the excitement of being confined in a closed room with approximately 1,500 seats! The way it gets excited is also unique to Japan. At Western concerts, the audience would be filled with screams as the voltage increases, but Japanese audiences never get tired of the music and continue to beat the rhythm methodically, no matter how many songs they play. The loud clapping conveys enthusiasm and admiration to the band, and when the chorus hits, the 1,500-person chorus sings perfectly. Sendai is at the height of its popularity, so the excitement is swirling behind closed doors. Kinney's original master was discovered after 32 years. What flowed from that cassette was the sweet tone and enthusiasm that could only be heard at the scene that day. The phantom Sendai performance was thought to remain only in the distant memories of those who experienced it. This is a gem of a live album that conveys the truth as it was back then. A truly great excavation that transcends time and space. It will be delivered to your door this weekend.
