35 years ago, at the beginning of the year, M.S.G. came to Japan during their heyday. This superb live album is now available on 2CD. This work includes the performance "January 15, 1983: Nagoya City Public Hall". This is one act from their second Japan tour. If you get the idea of "Nagoya in 1983!?", you are a maniac. In our shop, we have archived many famous albums from the heyday, but this Nagoya performance has never been recorded before. No, it is a phantom show that was hardly recorded, not only in our shop. First of all, let's organize the dates and collections for January 1983.・January 13: Fukuoka Sunpalace Hall "GOD RETURNS DEFINITIVE MASTER" ・January 15: Nagoya City Public Hall [This work] ・January 17: Kyoto Kaikan "KYOTO 1983" ・January 18: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall "OSAKA 1983 1ST NIGHT" ・January 19: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall "OSAKA 1983 2ND NIGHT" ・January 20: Tokyo Nippon Budokan "BURNIN' WITH DESERT FIRE" *Note: Only representative works on each day. All 6 performances. We have introduced the best recordings of most shows, such as the stereo sound board's pinnacle work "GOD RETURNS DEFINITIVE MASTER (Langley Deluxe 015)" and the masterpiece "KYOTO 1983 (Zodiac 198)", but there was no Nagoya. With this work, the "1983 Japan Collection" will be complete. However, such rarity alone does not make it a permanent press. The greatest taste of this work is its intense sound. The original master cassette excavated by our shop was directly converted to CD, and what came out of it was an audience sound that was too exquisite. Until now, the pinnacle of the customer record was "KYOTO 1983", but it is as wonderful as that masterpiece. It is an audience recording that picks up the sound of the venue very slightly, but its clarity and fineness of detail make even the line recordings there run away barefoot. The best thing about it is the direct feeling. There is no sense of distance at all, and the Flying V is crying right in front of you. Moreover, the very slight sound rolls in a good direction, and although it does not hide even a single creak of the neck bend, it gives the sad tone an even sweeter, more melting sound. Of course, it's not just the Flying V. The drums are so beautiful that you can see the structure of the kit, and the bass has a gritty feel and rich vibes with waveform-level vividness. Andy Nye's keyboard and obbliphrases are crisp, and you can enjoy the subtle chords. Gary Barden's singing voice is as real and thick as the Flying V, and even his rough breathing during the MC is super clear. Even if you listen to each of the five members while concentrating on them, you can concentrate on each sound. In fact, there is a tape change that cuts about 27 seconds of the latter half of "Lost Horizons" (complemented by the masterpiece "KYOTO 1983"), and after the heated solo in the final "Rock Bottom", it becomes a little unstable, but other than that, there are no flaws that seem to be flaws. The superb performance that you wouldn't think was their first appearance continues with a great sense of stability. What is depicted with such a superb sound is truly a great performance of M.S.G. at the peak! In terms of flashiness, this was their first visit to Japan accompanied by Cozy Powell, but the focused ensemble of "Mr. Flying V is the main character," the mature performance that comes from having been through many experiences, and Gary Barden's passionate singing that redeemed the stigma of his first visit to Japan...all of these things transcend their first visit to Japan. Of course, the set was "100% pure Schenker" selected from the golden first three albums before the pop color spread, and they also performed plenty of "Ulcer," "Desert Song," and "Rock You To The Ground" from "Apocalypse," as well as "Bijou Pleasurette" and "Looking For Love," which were not heard even on their first visit to Japan. In particular, "Looking For Love" is one of the most famous songs in "Myth," but it is not often played, but it is played with the god tone of the great heyday. Naturally, the audience at the scene was delighted. Although it tends to be hidden by the extremely thick performance sound, the chorus of "Looking for love!!" is also firmly absorbed. These merits were also enjoyed at each performance in 1983, but this work is still a striking document of the Nagoya performance, which I will be listening to for the first time. When Michael introduced the members, he was in a good mood and said, "This is Gary!!" but he missed the beginning of "Bijou Pleasurette". Even such a mistake is somehow amusing, and the mood of the performance and the weariness is emanating from the whole work, so much so that Michael's embarrassed expression seems to come to mind. The Nagoya performance in the golden age finally saw the light of day. This is a masterpiece that contains the phantom show that you have never heard before with the best sound. The miraculous original master that has come over 35 years. Japan in 1983 is now perfect.
