In '86, we started writing songs for the new album, but we couldn't get any songs to the point of completion. There are some songs that have been demoed, but we don't know what they are at all. First up is "Song For Epic." Co-written and produced by Michael and Bill Bottrell, it was recorded during the early Bad sessions at Havenhurst from January 30th to February 6th, '86. It was released with a working title and a memorandum from Bottrell. According to Bottrell, this song was an idea from Epic Records, who wanted Michael to do a trio song with Tina Turner and Bruce Springsteen. "Epic wanted Michael to do a trio song with Tina Turner and Bruce Springsteen. It was a pretty lame idea, but Michael was persistent and said, 'I'll try something.' While Michael was away for a few days, John Barnes and I wrote a hook with no lyrics and made a simple demo. So Michael told Epic, 'We tried it, and it all worked out.'" Bill Bottrell and "New Song". This song also seems to be a working title. Written by Michael and Bill Bottrell (producer), it was recorded during the early BAD sessions at Havenhurst from February 8th to October 1st, 1986. These two songs have not been leaked at all, and even AI could not make it with this information. Now, this title starts with an extended version of "Fly Away". This is not included in the following titles on the previous album. "Free", which sings about the honeymoon period between lovers, and "Fly Away", which hints at the breakup of the two. Various versions of these two songs were released on the above Vol.6. These were also great songs, but there is another great song recorded in the spring of 1986 that depicts what happened afterwards. It is "I'm So Blue". However, it was not completed and is not included on "Bad". It talks about past love and the emotions felt while looking back on that relationship. The love may be for Tatum O'Neal, with whom he had previously dated. In 1986, she married John McEnroe. Diana Ross remarried in 1985, and the shock of this marriage never seems to wear off. "Well, it's cold as ice, you said you loved me, and then we became friends, and now I'm walking alone, what happens after all we did? She said she'd forgive me, a long and eternal love, true, but she took another man and left me, so I'm singing to get my blues out. Please, set me free, I'm here all alone, sad, lonely, what do I do, I don't know, I'm alone anyway, you used to love me, I think you're blue because I'm not around, they say, you should sing, if you're blue now I'd be happy, I'll keep singing, I'm still crying, tell me what to do." The album includes the original version, the AI remastered version, an instrumental version, an acapella version, TAHMJ's Updated Reconstruction, which has been updated to give it a lively sound, the 80's Mix and instrumental version with a mid-80's sound and beat, and a DJ mix with a melancholy manner and a new title, "Set Me Free". "Sunset Driver" was first recorded by Michael for the album "Off The Wall" at Hayvenhurst between November '78 and April '79, but was never completed and shelved. It was updated with overdubs for the album "Thriller" in August '82 at Westlake Recording Studios, but was also shelved. According to the official liner notes for "Thriller 40" and notes shared by Bill Bottrell, "Sunset Driver" was reconsidered for inclusion on the album "Bad" on May 30th and 31st '86, and updated mixes of the '79 and '82 demos were made during these sessions. This was included in "The Ultimate Collection" and "Thriller 40". It has an "Off The Wall"-like disco sound, but it was actually the final take. This time we have included the May 30, 1986 version of "Sunset Driver". In addition, we have included the instrumental version (if you extract only the sound, the strings remain but the disco sound is less and it seems like the "Bad" period), an almost a cappella version with singing backed by bass, and two remixes, a stripped mix with bass but with added rhythm, and a remix with a digital feel, because we thought that since this is the final version, it should be updated a little more. It's not exactly "Bad"-like, but I feel that the backing and singing style need to be changed in a way that's not just adding effects. That's how "Sunset Driver" is "Off The Wall". "Do You Know Where Your Children Are" was recorded by Michael during the early Bad sessions held at Havenhurst from May 9 to 16, 1986, and was further developed for "Dangerous" in 1990. Unfortunately, it was not included on either album. For 1994's HIStory, the drum programming was slightly revised, but it was also not included. First, the original version, which period was it from Bad, Dangerous, or HIStory? Possibly, it is credited as having been recorded between 1986 and 1990, so it is clear that it is not from the HIStory period. If anything, it is more like the Bad period. The minimal effects are also like Bad in texture, and the guitar is David Williams, including the solo. The engineers are credited to Bill Bottrell and Matt Forger, but John Barnes' name is not found. There are quite a lot of Bad elements, but above all, Bill Bottrell mentions that it was recorded in 1986. Even if it was developed for Dangerous, it probably wouldn't have been that different from the Bad period. A remix by Tricky Stewart made for the 2010 album Michael has been leaked. It includes a sample of Naughty by Nature's "O.P.P." from 1991, which seems to be a reference to the "Dangerous" period. This is one of the reasons why some people believe that the original version was from the "Dangerous" period. In fact, the rhythm of the original version is quite similar to Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step." Also, a very innovative remix by Timbaland and J-Rock was included in "Xscape." In fact, the lyrics used there are different from the original version. The expression "She's only 12 years old" is different. The "Xscape" version uses the relative pronoun "Who's only 12 years old" to modify the little girl in the previous sentence. I wonder when this "Xscape" vocal is from, and if the innovative remix was actually based on the arrangement from the "HIStory" period? I don't know. "Do you know where your children are? It's 12 o'clock now, and if they're out on the street somewhere, imagine how lonely it must be." From the 1960s to the 1990s, American news programs would air videos at 10 or 11 p.m. warning viewers not to let their children play late at night. At midnight, a 12-year-old girl is tricked by a man who promises her a good job and becomes a prostitute. Iris, the prostitute played by Jodie Foster in the representative film Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, the director of the Bad short film, was also 12 years old. "Do You Know Where Your Children" includes the original version, an instrumental version, an a cappella version, a remix from the Bad era, and a leaked mix by Tricky Stewart from the Dangerous era. 1.Fly Away (Extended Version) 4:21 2.I'm So Blue 4:07 3.I'm So Blue (AI Remastered) 4:05 4.I'm So Blue (Instrumental) 4:07 5.I'm So Blue (Acapella) 3:47 6.I'm So Blue (TAHMJ's Updated Reconstruction) 4:07 7.I'm So Blue (80's Mix) 4:12 8.I'm So Blue (80's Mix Instrumental) 4:12 9.Set Me Fee (I'm So Blue Remix) 4:16 10.Sunset Driver (Demo) 4:03 11.Sunset Driver (Instrumental) 4:02 12.Sunset Driver (Acapella Bass Mix) 4:04 13.Sunset Driver (Stripped Mix) 4:05 14.Sunset Driver (Remix) 3:36 15.Do You Know Where Your Children Are (Original Version) 4:39 16.Do You Know Where Your Children Are (Original Version Instrumental) 4:40 17.Do You Know Where Your Children Are (A Cappella) 4:10 18.Do You Know Where Your Children Are (80's Bad Era Remix) 4:05 19.Do You Know Where Your Children Are (Tricky Stewart Remix) 4:30
