This is a 3 hour 42 minute recording of two shows held at the Living Arts Theatre in Philadelphia on February 11th, from the quintet's 1997 North American tour, both of which have been digitally remastered to a good audience master. First of all, Pat Metheny and the rhythm section are super powerful members of Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette, the original Electric Miles tag team. The previous year's solo album "Tales from the Hudson" was oriented towards electric sounds such as programmed sounds, but this time, perhaps because it is a long-established jazz club along with the Village Vanguard, it is full of authentic acoustic jazz throughout, with a passionate performance of long plays including the standard "Autum Leaves" and solos by each member. Even so, Metheny's elegant solos are superb throughout, and the way he spins phrases that are sure to impress with his orthodox playing style makes this a must-listen for fans. In any case, this is a must-listen item for all jazz fans as it is a rare live recording of this lineup.
