The Meters broke up after releasing "New Directions" on Reprise in 1977. The band's leader, Art, formed the Neville Brothers with the other Neville brothers. However, two years after the breakup, they held a one-off live performance in their hometown of New Orleans with replacement members for Art and Cyril Neville, and this is the first time it has been recorded on a high-quality stereo soundboard! The world is large, and there are many different styles of music in each region, regardless of genre. This kind of music, which is in a sense minor, has had a huge impact on musicians all over the world. Yes, it's the music of New Orleans, which is said to be the birthplace of jazz. In particular, The Meters, formed in the mid-1960s by Zigaboo Modelist, who joined Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli, George Porter, and other studio musicians at Sans Records, run by New Orleans music master Allen Toussaint, are in a class of their own! This work was recorded on January 20, 1979, at Tipitina's in New Orleans, after the Meters were officially disbanded in 1977, when the Neville Brothers led by Art were gaining popularity. The concert featured George, Zigaboo, Nocentelli, and the Meters and Allen Toussaint, who have been releasing works since the 1960s. Willie West, a legendary New Orleans singer known only to those in the know, and Craig Roten, one of New Orleans' leading keyboard players, including Irma Thomas, Johnny Adams, Solomon Park, and George Porter's band. This is the ultimate item that has been recorded for 80 minutes on the highest quality stereo soundboard! The concert is made up of studio musicians who have worked their way up from the heart of New Orleans, the city of music, so you can be sure of their skills! Moreover, the funk sound that has captivated professional musicians all over the world, characterized by the second line that is unique to New Orleans, born from George's bass line, is undulating from start to finish, and the spirit of "If it's not fun, it's not music!" is maintained from start to finish, making it a super-cheerful performance that you won't want to miss out on, including their representative songs "Africa" and "Fire on the Bayou"!
