Approximately 50 minutes of the May 12 El Paso, Texas performance in the middle of the 1st leg of the North American tour of "Damage, Inc." accompanying "Master Of Puppets" in 1986 is recorded with the highest level stereo soundboard. One of the two major soundboard sound sources from the 1986 tour, along with the May 24th Cape Girardeau, Missouri performance. Although the first song, Battery, has not yet been recorded, the second song, Master Of Puppets, is recorded as a cut-in from the beginning, and from then on, Metallica's passionate live stage of this period, where they rush with tremendous destructive power, cannot be seen any better. You can enjoy realistic line recording. Each instrument is biased to the left or right depending on the part, but the soundboard recording is basically monaural. At the beginning, traces of analog tape deterioration can be seen in several places, but the sound quality itself is fresh, bright, and very easy to listen to. Since it is a line recording, each instrument can be heard ultra-clearly, and the notes of Cliff's bass sound are especially recorded with great clarity, making it a great listen. The bass tends to be swallowed up by the wall of sound, so it will be irresistible for fans to be able to follow Cliff's play with clear sound. Compared to the performance of "CHICAGO 1986 FIRST LEG" (sixth performance of the tour), where the performance was all about momentum and the ensemble was a little weak, the ensemble was stable, and the performance was iron-clad, honed through daily live performances. You can enjoy. The second half includes a studio session during the production of “Master Of Puppets”, which was recorded for approximately 24 minutes and 30 seconds. It was recorded in San Francisco in July 1985, and although it is the same sound source as the first half of the previously released "Master Of Puppets Demos", you can listen to the vivid sound that has not been thinned out by equalization or noise reduction. This can be said to be the master tape itself sound source. The two versions of Disposable Heroes are recorded with the songs cut out, but the advantage is that the subsequent Disposable Heroes [Take 2] to Orion are recorded as they are without being cut. (“Master Of Puppets Demos” was edited for each song.) The pitch, which was high in the original take, has of course been corrected. This is a must-have and must-listen title for fans who can enjoy both live and studio sessions with the best master quality sound.
